Prince William and Prince Harry once had a very close relationship so where things stand with them today saddens a lot of people. The siblings, who were always seen smiling and laughing whenever they were around each other, are now an ocean apart and there doesn’t seem to be a reconciliation on the horizon.

A royal expert believes that’s because William is so “wounded” by what has transpired with his brother and claims that one thing Harry said stilll bothers the future king more than anything.

Expert gives take on what ‘hurt’ and ‘wounded’ William the most about rift with Harry

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said a whole lot about the royal family since they stepped down in 2020. But one thing they alleged is what a royal commentator thinks has “hurt” and “wounded” the Duke of Cambridge more than anything else.

Express noted that royal expert Charles Rae spoke to GB News about the brothers’ once-close relationship and said: “William is very hurt and wounded by things that Harry and Meghan have said. Particularly on the Oprah Winfrey [interview], the racist allegations.”

Rae opined because of that he doesn’t think their relationship can be repaired as he “can’t see any way of it being solved.”

Prince William had to answer a question about race

Rae is referring to the explosive allegation Meghan and Harry made claiming that one senior member of the royal family wondered aloud what color the Sussexes’ son’s skin would be prior to his birth.

Not long after the interview aired, William and Kate were at an event where the prince was asked directly if the royals were racists. The Duke of Cambridge answered that they were “very much not a racist family.”

But the damage was already done because whether Meghan and Harry were being truthful or not about what they alleged, they had put it out there for millions to speculate.

William and Harry had little to no interaction the last few times they saw each other

The first time Prince William and Prince Harry saw each other following the Sussexes’ bombshell interview in March 2021 was at their grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral a month later. Things were so frosty then that the brothers had to have their cousin, Peter Phillips, stand between them during the procession. After the service, Harry was seen making small talk with William and Kate outside the church.

When the Duke of Sussex returned to the U.K. in July 2021 for the unveiling of Princess Diana’s stature, the siblings put on smiles for the cameras but barely spoke to one another. And one body language expert observed William refusing to interact with his brother when Harry tried to engage him.

In June 2022, both Harry and Meghan were in London for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebration. During that trip not only did Harry and William refrain from speaking, but they didn’t even make eye contact.
