‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’: Paris Hilton Told Gottmik How She Really Felt About Her Snatch Game Portrayal
The Snatch Game is a RuPaul’s Drag Race staple that has been featured in every season since season 2. Celebrities and other public figures such as Britney Spears, Little Richard, and Donald Trump have all been impersonated on various Snatch Game challenges. Paris Hilton has been done twice, and her latest iteration earned praise from the hotel heiress herself.
Gottmik impersonated Paris Hilton on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’
Season 13’s Snatch Game featured several standout performances, including Denali as Jonathan Van Ness, Tina Burner as Richard Simmons, and Rosé as Mary, Queen of Scots (complete with a spot-on Scottish accent).
Ultimately, the challenge win went to history-making queen Gottmik for her Paris Hilton impression. Gottmik brought the businesswoman and DJ to life and even included a nod to Hilton’s persona and voice that was revealed to be a façade in her YouTube documentary This is Paris.
Interestingly enough, the only other person to attempt a Paris Hilton impersonation on Snatch Game — season 2’s Raven — was a contestant this time around on the fictitious game show.
Paris Hilton has known Gottmik for years
As someone who is often made fun of for having a Valley Girl-slash-Paris-Hilton-esque vocal fry, Gottmik choosing Hilton for her Snatch Game performance was a no-brainer. But their relationship goes far beyond their similarities.
Prior to being cast on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Gottmik was a hardworking celebrity makeup artist who has painted the faces of everyone from Heidi Klum to Lil Nas X. Mik has also been friends with several Drag Race alumni including Detox, Laganja Estranja, and Alaska for years.
It just so happens that Hilton was one of Gottmik’s celebrity clients. A friendship blossomed out of their working relationship and continues to this day.
Paris Hilton told Gottmik what she thought of her Snatch Game performance
After the world got to see her winning Snatch Game performance, Gottmik showed just how close she is to Hilton today. At the end of her YouTube makeup tutorial for her Snatch Game look, Gottmik FaceTimed the “Stars Are Blind” singer herself.
Hilton and Gottmik spoke like two best friends catching up, and Hilton wasted no time in congratulating Mik for her win. Hilton revealed she tuned in to watch when the episode aired and was as blown away with the Snatch Game as the judges were.
“You f*cking killed it,” Hilton said, holding her dog. “I was dying.” The two spoke about the bright pink dress with large ostrich feather shoulders that Gottmik wore for the Snatch Game and brought back for the makeup tutorial, which was created by a designer they both love, Christian Cowan.
Gottmik took a moment to thank Hilton for taking the time to speak and for noticing her star power years before it came to the Drag Race stage. “It means the world to have your stamp of approval,” Gottmik admitted.
Hilton couldn’t be more proud of her doppelgänger. “I’m so happy for you,” she smiled. “It’s f*cking sick.”
