With the Emmy Awards just around the corner, drag performer and host, RuPaul, might’ve just teased fans with her latest look from the next season of the reality competition series. Here’s what we know about RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 and it’s spinoffs.

RuPaul shared a message about his Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program

There’s plenty of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent in the most recent seasons of Drag Race. As a result, this series earned plenty of recognition from the Emmy Awards. The reality competition series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, is nominated for 11 Emmys this year across its franchise.

That includes a chance for host RuPaul Charles to set a new record with a fifth straight win as Best Reality Host. As a result, RuPaul shared a message with fans on Twitter straight from the judge’s panel.

“You know, my favorite thing about this show is always the kids who come and compete in this competition. I think it’s so exciting to watch people break through their own perception of themselves,” RuPaul said during the video clip.

Some suspect this video could be from filming the newest season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

With RuPaul in front of the iconic pink-ish background, hair and makeup done, fans think this could be the very first look of the upcoming season. It did raise a few questions regarding the format of this upcoming competition and how it will promote social distancing among the competitors.

It didn’t show which drag performers will be competing this season. However, fans suspect it’ll be around the same number of contestants as season 12. Viewers did learn, though, that the season already finished production. There is no official premiere date yet.

Season 13 comes hot off the heels of ‘All-Stars 5’

Fans have only been a few weeks without new episodes of this reality competition series. Following Jaida Essence Hall’s win on season 12, Shea Couleé dominated spinoff series RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5. Although there’s no official premiere date for season 13, viewers are closer than ever to finding out who will be the next drag superstar.

Of course, this season was filmed during the pandemic and, as a result, producers followed local, state and federal COVID-19 health and safety requirements. That includes making the judge’s panel longer to promote social distancing efforts.

For even more proof, Variety reported this September that season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race already wrapped production, while production on other “Drag Race” spinoff series remains ongoing. In fact, there are quite a few Drag Race spinoffs recently released, including RuPaul’s Drag Race: Vegas Revue.

Episodes of Canada’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK are available on the streaming platform, WOWPresents Plus. Some episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked are listed on the WOWPresents YouTube Channel.
