Randy Fenoli knows weddings. The star of TLC’s long-running Say Yes to the Dress has helped thousands of women pick out the perfect gown for their big day as the fashion director at New York’s Kleinfeld Bridal. He’s also a fashion designer and graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology. So it’s no wonder that’s he’s launched a collection of wedding gowns. The only surprise is that he didn’t do it sooner.

Why Randy launched a bridal line

After years helping brides-to-be select gowns – and building a name for himself – it seemed high time to get back to designing. Fenoli’s namesake line of wedding dresses, Randy Fenoli Bridal, debuted in 2017.

Fenoli didn’t just want to stretch his creative muscles. He also felt that there was a void in the market for women who were looking for dresses that were stylish but didn’t cost a small fortune.

“For me, the most fun part is being able to design gowns that are fashionable yet affordable to reach more brides across the world,” he told People in 2017. “I have the unique experience of being hands-on with hundreds of thousands of brides over the years so my personal design sense has developed from there.”

Most dresses cost between $1,500 and $3,000

It’s not unusual for a bride on Say Yes to the Dress to spend $5,000 or more on a gown. But Fenoli knows that not every bride has a budget that large. He specifically created his collection to offer options to those with more modest budgets. (The average bride in the U.S. spends $1,509 on her dress, according to The Knot.)

For higher-end dress designers “the price points start at $5,000,” Fenoli told Hudson Valley Magazine. “The more moderate price points are $1,500 and below, so there’s nothing for brides between $1,500 and $3,500 with a designer name. I felt there was a huge void in the market for somebody brides trusted to deliver a couture product with beautiful fabrics, great laces, impeccable embroidery and beading, and amazing fit.”

While a few pieces in Fenoli’s latest collection are more expensive, like the dramatic Brandi ball gown that’s available in both blue and white and costs $4,400, most are significantly less. A strapless mermaid-style dress with beaded-Venice-lace appliques and sheer side panels is $2,400, while an A-line dress with crystal beading and Venice lace appliques over sequined Chantilly lace is $2,600. An elegant strapless fit-and-flare organza dress starts at $1,500.

Fenoli’s collection is size-inclusive

Not only are Fenoli’s wedding dresses relatively affordable, but they’re also designed to fit brides of all shapes and sizes. For his Fall 2019 collection, dresses go up to size 30.

“I want a dress for every size bride. My dresses go all the way up to size 30 with no extra charge,” he told The Knot. For Fenoli, offering a wider array of sizes fits with his mission of making every bride feel beautiful on her wedding day.

“How can you tell a bride, ‘I’m sorry, but we’re gonna have to charge extra because you’re fuller-figured’?” he told Hudson Valley Magazine. “Why don’t you just take a knife and stab them in the heart, right? It’s horrible.”

Season 17 of Say Yes to the Dress premieres January 5 at 8/7c on TLC.
