Before He Was in ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ Eugene Levy Was the Antagonist of This Disney Sequel
Eugene Levy may be known as Johnny Rose from the Emmy-award winning series, Schitt’s Creek. Before that, he was the wealthy patriarch of the Murtaugh family in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, a Disney original sequel now available on their streaming platform.

They may be a huge family, but the kids in the Baker clan were growing up. As a result, Tom Baker was looking forward to one more summer vacation with his family. What he didn’t know was that his arch-nemesis, Jimmy Murtaugh, moved in across their lake house with his superstar family.
The antagonist of the 2005 film, Jimmy Murtaugh, was portrayed by the actor from Schitt’s Creek, Levy. Now, it’s available on Disney’s subscription service, along with other productions featuring Levy.
After being removed from Disney’s streaming platform, Cheaper by the Dozen 2 rejoining the Disney+ movie library during February 2021. The original Cheaper by the Dozen, which introduced fans to the Baker family is also available for streaming on Disney+.
Who did Eugene Levy portray in ‘Cheaper by the Dozen 2’?
Jimmy Murtaugh and Tom Baker (Steve Martin) were rivals for several years before Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Whatever Tom Baker did, Jimmy Murtaugh did it better. Things only get more complicated when their kids become friends and some of their children even date each other.
Eventually, Jimmy Murtaugh and Tom Baker stop feuding long enough to enjoy the birth of Tom’s grandchild. With the Bakers now owning the house on the lake across from the Murtaugh’s mansion, Jimmy shared that he was excited to spend more time with the other family.
The cast of this sequel starred a few memorable cast members aside from Martin and Levy. That includes Twilight and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D actor Taylor Lautner, Camp Rock actor Alyson Stoner, and Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff.

Aside from Cheaper by the Dozen, this actor appeared in Waiting for Guffman, American Pie, and Second City Television. He even voice acted in the Disney and Pixar animated film, Finding Dory, alongside Ty Burrell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Ed O’Neill.
What this actor is best known for, however, is the comedy series, Schitt’s Creek. There, Levy appeared as the patriarch of the wealthy family grappling with poverty, Johnny Rose, earning plenty of Emmy Awards and recognition in the process.
In 2020, this original earned the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Levy earned the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and the Satellite Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy.
