The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in Phase Four, and with it comes new characters and more developed storylines about previous characters. One show that deeply explores two existing characters’ storylines is The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.

Even though they play superheroes, Mackie and Stan also lead everyday lives. And Stan proved that by walking into Starbucks — dressed as his TFATWS character Bucky Barnes.

Stan started acting from a young age. He and his family relocated from Romania to Austria before finally settling in New York. By the time the star got into high school, he knew that theater was his passion.

Stan performed in plays such as Little Shop of Horrors and West Side Story, which allowed him to hone his acting skills while setting his sights on formal acting classes.

After graduating from high school, Stan attended Rutgers University Mason Gross School of The Arts to focus on his craft. Shortly afterward, he started catching the eye of many talent agencies. The actor landed his big break when he appeared in Black Swan.

He then appeared in Rachel Getting Married and in Once Upon a Time, where he played Jefferson, aka the Mad Hatter.

In 2011, Stan debuted as Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger, thus marking his entry into the MCU. He played Captain America‘s friend (thought to be dead), who later turns out to be a killing machine.

Whenever he wasn’t playing Bucky, he kept himself busy by appearing in films like The Bronze, I, Tonya, Logan Lucky, Ricki, and The Flash, The Martian, and I’m Not Here. He also partnered up with his MCU colleague Tom Holland in the 2020 film The Devil All The Time.

Sebastian Stan shows his versatility when playing Bucky

When Bucky Barnes first appeared on Captain America: The First Avenger, he was a charming ladies’ man who had gotten drafted into the war. When the war ended, Steve Rogers thought Bucky had died in battle only for him to appear as a modified supersoldier. Bucky’s modifications made him an unpleasant and ruthless brainwashed assassin.

Stan’s latest project in the MCU is the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the series, Bucky tries to adjust to his new life without his best friend, Steve Rogers, while dealing with his past misdoings. The show also focuses on Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson, as he fights with his feelings about being the new Captain America.

In 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers handed Falcon his Captain America shield, thus giving him the title. TFATWS delves into the implications of Wilson, a Black man, carrying the shield and him questioning how he can represent a country that doesn’t care about him.

Stan enjoys his MCU character, and it clearly shows. In 2020, the star posted a photo wearing a mask with a caption that made a subtle nod to his character Bucky. His post was meant to encourage his fans to stay safe during the pandemic.

Recently, Stan was spotted casually entering a Starbucks wearing his character’s outfit. Fans on Reddit went wild over the photo posted on the platform, with many dissecting the costume.

One fan said, “TIL Bucky wears suspenders under his leather jackets.” Other fans joined the conversation, noting that the outfit was accurate since Bucky technically comes from the ’40s.
