Seventeen‘s first English-language single is just days away. On April 1, the K-pop group announced the single will be released on April 15. Seventeen revealed the name of the single is “Darl+ing” on April 7. The digital single will be a pre-release single to the band’s highly-anticipated studio album, which is set to be released in May.

Seventeen’s new single will drop on April 15

Seventeen’s upcoming single “Darl+ing” will be the K-pop group’s first English-language single. Since debuting in 2015, the band’s global presence has steadily increased.

According to a press release, the new single will be a pre-release single for Seventeen’s upcoming studio album.

The press release also says, “… the song is expected to serve as a prelude to SEVENTEEN’s heartfelt stories for their fans—CARATs—around the world. It will also be a starting point to ‘TEAM SEVENTEEN,’ a new project the band recently unveiled through a teaser video that hints at an exciting year to come for SEVENTEEN and CARAT as a united team.”

There is an official comeback schedule for ‘Darl+ing’

On April 4, Seventeen shared a schedule for the release of “Darl+ing.” With the comeback schedule, fans of the K-pop group will know what teasers to expect leading up to the release of the single.

A mood teaser for the song was released at midnight KST on April 8. According to the single’s promotion schedule, the first concept photo for “Darl+ing” will be shared online on April 9 and April 10 at midnight KST.

Seventeen will drop the second concept photo for the single on April 11 and April 12 at midnight KST. A voice message for the song will be shared online on April 13 at midnight KST.

On April 14, Seventeen will release the official teaser for “Darl+ing” at midnight KST.

“Darl+ing” will then be released at midnight EDT and 1 p.m. KST on April 15. In addition to being released as a digital single, “Darl+ing” will also have a music video.

It is unknown how much Wonwoo of Seventeen will participate in the band’s comeback

There are 13 members in Seventeen: S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, Seungkwan, Jun, Hoshi, The8, and Dino.

On April 5, Pledis Entertainment let fans know that Wonwoo’s mother recently died and that the Seventeen rapper was having a “period of mourning with his family.”

Pledis Entertainment’s announcement reads:

“Hello.
This is PLEDIS Entertainment.
SEVENTEEN member WONWOO’s mother passed away this morning from an illness.
WONWOO is currently at the funeral hall, and the funeral will be held with family and close friends.
We ask for your kind consideration and support so that WONWOO can have a period of mourning with his family.
May she rest in peace.”

On social media, fans of Seventeen shared their condolences for Wonwoo and his family. Fans also encouraged the Seventeen member to take as long as he needs to grieve.

“My heart breaks for Wonwoo. I hope he takes his time to recover from this. Grieving is a very difficult period and sincerely hoping he doesn’t have to be pushed into the public light without being mentally at peace,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan wrote on Reddit, “i hope wonwoo takes all the time he needs to be with his family and grieve. may his mother rest in peace.”

“My condolences to everyone affected by the passing. I hope that they can postpone everything for however long it takes to heal,” wrote a Reddit user.
