Sex/Life Season 2 is beginning to come together. The Sarah Shahi-led series absolutely took the world by storm when it landed on Netflix in 2021, becoming one of the standout shows of the year.

Shahi plays Billie Connelly, a woman who used to be a wild child but has since settled down. She has a comfortable life with her investment banker husband Cooper and their two kids, but Billie has lost sight of the person she used to be. Before she knows it, she’s fantasizing about her past with her ex-boyfriend Brad and thinking about risking it all to be her true self.

Read on to find out the new and returning characters in her world.

The cast of ‘Sex/Life’ Season 2 will include several new faces

New casting information for Sex/Life Season 2 rolled out on Monday, Feb. 28.

E! News reports that Shahi will be joined by Adam Demos (Brad Simon), Mike Vogel (Cooper Connelly), Margaret Odette (Sasha Snow), and Li Jun Li (Francesca).

Newcomers include Cleo Anthony of She’s Gotta Have It as Kam, Craig Bierko of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Mick, Dylan Bruce of Arrow as Spencer, Wallis Day of Batwoman as Gigi, and Darius Homayoun of Succession as Majid.

Unfortunately, the news did not come with a release date. But it looks like things are off to a good start.

The latest season of ‘Sex/Life’ was full of heartbreak, betrayal, and big twists

Released in June of 2021, Sex/Life didn’t exactly impress critics. However, it had audiences hooked with its juicy storylines and, of course, steamy love scenes. Thus, it was no surprise when Netflix greenlit another season.

Sex/Life is a dream come true. To create a show about empowered female sexuality that has entranced so many millions of viewers is not only immensely fun but also incredibly gratifying,” series creator and showrunner Stacy Rukeyser said in a statement shared with Variety.

“When I think about all the women who have reached out from all over the world to say that the show speaks to them in a deeply personal way, I am so inspired,” Rukeyser added. “I’m thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to continue telling this story for Billie, and for all of us.”

By the end of Sex/Life Season 1, Billie seemed to be in a much better place in her marriage to Cooper. She’d recommitted herself to him and their family, only to do a complete 180 in the finale and sneak out to Brad’s apartment one night. After seeing her location on his phone, Cooper called Francesca to come over.

The Cooper and Brad debate is never ending

Viewers are split when it comes to who Billie should be with. To some, Cooper is the total package, but that doesn’t mean Billie should stay with him. Some think she should follow her heart and be with Brad. But for Shahi, she thinks Billie should choose herself.

“We’ve all had those experiences, where we had one partner where the sex was better or we were more wild or they brought something out within us,” she told Decider. “But I think the truth of who we are is: Are we able to allow ourselves to be those things without that person? … I hope as the series continues, that’s what Billie starts to find. She can be this version of herself without any guy.”

“You know, I feel like the whole point about Billie, it wasn’t necessarily about this guy or that guy,” she added to Entertainment Tonight. “Because I think we’re better than that and I think as women we need to get out of the age-old tale of, ‘Our lives are defined through a man.’ I want Billie to find the version of herself that she is the happiest and the most free. And I hope she can do that without the help of any man, no matter who she’s with.”

We’ll see. Check out the first season of Sex/Life now on Netflix.
