Shea Couleé is here to slay — again. As a finalist on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 and the winner of All-Stars 5, this drag performer returns to the Werk Room for All-Stars 7 along with other crowned queens. Unfortunately, Shea Couleé’s mom didn’t even know she would be in this new season.

Hot off the heels of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14, the reality series announced the next season of its spinoff. What makes these upcoming episodes even more special is that they feature already crowned queens, some returning from All-Stars and one dubbed the winner of Drag Race UK.

That includes Yvie Oddly, Jinkx Monsoon, Shea Couleé, Trinity the Tuck, Jaida Essence Hall, Raja, Monét X Change, and The Vivienne. As an all-winners season, these performers will be competing for the title of the “Ultimate Drag Superstar.”

Similar to RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 6, this season debuts exclusively on the streaming platform Paramount Plus. New episodes of All-Stars 7 will be added weekly, with the premiere available on May 20, 2022.

Shea Couleé’s mom didn’t know Shea was competing on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 7’

Some Drag Race viewers are already #TeamShea, although there’s one member of Team Shea who was late to the party. That’s Shea Couleé’s mother, who didn’t even know the drag queen was returning to the competition.

“I sent my mom my promo video,” Shea Couleé tweeted. “Her response: ‘You’re on the new season of RuPaul?’ She stays keeping me humble.”

Drag Race fans saw Shea Couleé’s mom at the season 9 finale, with the audience member crediting Shea’s dad with her creativity. Shea Couleé’s rhythm was all her, though. The winner’s father died of cancer just weeks before the season 9 finale, with Shea mentioning him prior to her lip-sync for the crown.

After making it to the Top 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9, Shea Couleé returned to slay All-Stars 5. It was this season that included the potential campaign to eliminate Shea, who was considered to be one of the strongest competitors.

Shea Couleé made it to the finals of this season, eventually earning the crown and the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” The drag performer shared that this experience somewhat influenced her strategy for All-Stars 7.

“My style as a competitor is really to just focus on trying to be my best self and not worry about what other people are doing,” Couleé said during a video with Entertainment Weekly. “And if girls wanted to do a campaign to try and send me home this time I knew that the fans would do their due diligence and tear their a**** apart so I slept well at night.”
