We don’t know about Alton Williams, but it looks like Skully is alive after all. The character, played by De’Aundre Bonds, appeared to die at the end of Snowfall Season 4 after a fight with Jerome Saint (Amin Joseph). But a new promotional photo for the TV show suggests otherwise.

Did Skully die in ‘Snowfall’? A new photo confirms his survival

Snowfall released a photo on its Instagram page confirming that Skully is alive. The post included a photo of him and was shared alongside pictures of other characters from Snowfall Season 5, including Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), Cissy Saint (Michael Hyatt), Leon Simmons (Isaiah John), Aunt Louie (Angela Lewis), Gustavo Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), and Wanda Bell (Gail Bean), among others.

“The recovery of tragedy just got personal,” read the caption. “#SnowfallFX S5 premieres 2/23.”

In the comment section, fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming season and the return of Skully. “😱😱 OH HE’S BACK?!” read one comment, prompting the page to write back: “Like he never left 👀.” When someone else wrote they imagined Skully would “cut up this season,” the page replied, “You know he stays on 10.”

Skully was already terrifying. Imagine what’s going to happen now that he nearly lost his life to Franklin’s people.

What we know about ‘Snowfall’ Season 5

Few details are known about Snowfall Season 5. However, show co-creator Dave Andron confirmed there would be a slight time jump from the events in the Snowfall Season 4 finale.

“We’re going to probably, it looks like, jump forward a little bit in time, more than we have maybe in the past to get into the meat of 1986 when the violence was really ramping up, when you really started to feel the full militarization of the LAPD, when the War on Drugs was on its way to reaching its apex,” he told Gold Derby.

“And then this kind of pop culture explosion that was brimming in South Central — the rise of gangster rap and you had ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and those things getting ready to drop and blow up. It’s a huge sea change moment for the neighborhood,” he continued.

“And so without getting into too much character stuff, I will just say from the standpoint of history and kind of where we are in the arc of this thing, it’s a really exciting time for us to plop our characters into and see what happens,” Andron added.

The trailer shows Franklin desperately trying to hold on to Aunt Louie and Uncle Jerome while preparing for a family of his own. Cissy warns him of the ongoing danger facing his empire, but Franklin can’t see past his own interests. “There is nothing that I’m not prepared to do,” he tells Louie at one point.
