Kendall Jenner is one of the most successful members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. A well-known model, Jenner has worked in the industry for years and has been featured by many iconic brands.

She has also maintained her role in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, earning notoriety and contributing to her social media popularity. Still, Jenner has not always been embraced by fans, and more than a few have wondered whether or not it is time for the model to pursue another career path.

Recently, some fans on Reddit discussed Jenner’s credibility as a model and what she could start doing in order for people to take her a bit more seriously.

Kendall Jenner was born in 1995, one of two children born to Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner, then known as Bruce Jenner. Raised in palatial surroundings in Los Angeles, California, Jenner achieved fame at an early age when Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007.

As one of the younger members of the family, Jenner was just a young girl when she was first thrust into the spotlight. However, she knew when she was very young that she wanted to pursue a career as a model.

As chronicled on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner scored her first modeling gig in 2009, after her mother, Kris Jenner, helped set her up with a major modeling agency. Almost instantly, Jenner began walking the runway for major brands like Teen Vogue, Chanel, Alexander Wang, and Balmain.

Over the years, Jenner became one of the top models in the world, and easily one of the most recognizable. All the while, Jenner has continued to appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians alongside the rest of her family.

Fans aren’t thrilled with Kendall Jenner

Although Kendall Jenner has always been successful in her industry of choice, she hasn’t always been popular with fans.

She has received a great deal of criticism over the years for various things, including for the fact that she seems to have a sense of entitlement about the fashion industry, even stating that she picks and chooses what shows and projects she wants to be associated with and isn’t like “those girls,” other models who do thirty or more shows per season. Her comments drew ire from fellow models as well as fans.

She has also been involved in several controversies over the years, from the infamous Pepsi commercial to doing shoots that critics claim are full of cultural appropriation.

For many fans, she is the least interesting member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, and although some give her props for keeping her personal life off-camera, it also means there is significantly less positive buzz around her name.

What could Kendall Jenner do to be taken more seriously?

Recently, some fans on Reddit discussed the future of Jenner’s career and her habit of over-sexualizing everything. The image in question was a giveaway that Jenner featured on her Instagram, in which she appeared to be nude, covered in expensive designer handbags.

Critics on Reddit stated that the model would be “so much more respected if she didn’t do this kind of stuff.” Other Reddit users called Jenner’s pose “tasteless” and said compared her to her younger sister, Kylie Jenner, and her habit of frequently posting nearly-nude photos to social media.

There were other posters who called into question the validity of the giveaway itself, and of many other similar Instagram giveaways. It certainly seems as though Jenner is taking a page from her family’s book when it comes to posting suggestive photos, even though she claims to want to distance herself from the fray.

While no one can say for certain whether or not a change in image would help Kendall Jenner to be taken more seriously, it would be a good starting point.
