‘Station 19’ Season 4 Finale is Coming Sooner Than You Think

The Grey’s Anatomy firefighter spinoff, Station 19, is heading for a season 4 finale sooner than fans expect. Although Station 19 Season 4 got off to a slower start than usual, they still filmed all 18 episodes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Does Ben Warren die on ‘Station 19’?

In the last episode of Station 19 Season 4 Episode 13, “I Guess I’m Floating,” many viewers worried that Ben Warren might die. During a cruise ship banquet for Black firefighters, Battalion Chief Gregory (Tom Wright) called out Dean Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan) regarding his lawsuit. After the speech, Dean confronted the chief; however, Gregory had a heart attack and fell overboard.

Dean jumped in after the Battalion Chief; however, he didn’t grab a life vest. Luckily, Ben Warren (Jason George) brought some floating rescue equipment with him when he jumped in after the two men. Gregory died, but Ben and Dean attempted to save his body. When the two men worry they might die, Dean agrees to let go of the chief, so they have a fighting chance. Right before the end of the episode, Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Station 19 show up to rescue Ben and Dean. Both men survived and will be apart of the Station 19 Season 4 finale.

Why isn’t ‘Station 19’ on tonight?

The Station 19 cast takes a break this week (May 13) for production to catch up. Like many other TV series’ this year, regular stops in production occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the show returns on May 20, 2021 and the Station 19 Season 4 finale is coming soon after that.

When Station 19 Season 4 Episode 14 airs on May 20, Ben finally has surgery on his testicle. In the last episode, viewers found out that he had a mass in his testicle, and it might be cancer. He did not want to have surgery, but his near-death experience changed his mind.

Meanwhile, Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) and Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) navigate a bump in their relationship. Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) and Inara (Colleen Foy) see a person fall past their window in the promo for Station 19 Season 4 Episode 14. According to the description, they help their neighbor with a “trashy situation.”

When is the ‘Station 19’ Season 4 finale?

On May 27, 2021, Station 19 Episode 15, “Say Her Name,” airs on ABC. The synopsis is short and doesn’t contain a lot of information at this point.

“When Vic helps her parents through a devastating loss, they have a long-overdue conversation about the anguish of being Black in America,” the synopsis on ABC reads.

Then the following week, June 3, 2021, is the Station 19 Season Finale, “Forever and Amen.” However, viewers believe that there are too many loose ends to tie up in only three remaining episodes.

One viewer pointed out on Reddit that the writers need to touch on Dean’s lawsuit, Marina’s proposal/wedding to Maya, Ben’s possible cancer, and Vic Hughes’ (Barrett Doss) parents’ restaurant fire. The writers also need to include what happens with Travis Montgomery’s (Jay Hayden) dad. Will he come out to his wife and family? We know they touch on Jack and Inara’s relationship in the next episode. However, what about Andy Herrera’s (Jaina Lee Ortiz) family and Dean and Vic’s feelings for each other?

There are many things to cover, with only three episodes remaining until the Station 19 Season 4 finale.
