Is Jason Winston George leaving ‘Station 19’?

Many fans worry that Jason Winston George, who portrays Ben Warren, might leave Station 19 after writing a heartfelt social media post. In the tweet, George shared the new Station 19 Season 5 Episode 5 preview. Ben Warren’s on-screen wife, Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), believes someone arrives at Grey Sloan Memorial hospital dead in the teaser. She also cannot reach Ben on the phone in the preview, and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) insists a lot of trauma is heading their way.

“On a personal level…,” George tweeted. “This #greysanatomy #station19 #crossover is the most powerful one yet. Real talk… We got teary even after cameras stopped rolling, especially me. #muchlove to all my @greysabc & @station19 family. Genuinely love you all.”

Many fans worry that the tweet from George is a goodbye to his Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy family. However, other fans believe the Station 19 preview and tweet from George are red herrings meant to throw fans off the scent of what really happens. Who dies in ‘Station 19’? [Spoilers from fans from before the episode aired]

When viewers took a closer look at the trailer for Station 19 Season 5 Episode 5, they believe Vic Hughes is the person who falls off the ladder. However, she doesn’t die. Instead, many viewers think that Dean Miller (Okieriete “Oak” Onaodowan) dies saving Vic.

“I think the person on the ladder is Vic,” one Station 19 fan wrote on Reddit. “That’s why Theo looks so desperate; Dean will climb up there to rescue her. (Theo wears a red helmet, Dean a black one, so it makes sense). Vic gets injured (that’s why she’s in civilian clothes in the Thanksgiving episode), Dean dies (he has not been seen on set since 5×05).”

Other viewers agree with the Station 19 Reddit theory that Dean Miller dies in season 5 episode 5, “Things We Lost in the Fire.” Another fan added that after Dean dies, Vic will find out that he loved her.

“The spoiler about Andy caring for Pru in this episode is significant, and it’s not random,” another Redditor added. “That could’ve been shown without being spoiled, but the writers intentionally put that as a spoiler for a reason.”

Pruitt is Dean’s daughter, who will need someone to care for her if something happens to Dean. In the next episode of Station 19, the synopsis explicitly discusses a celebration of the “families they have become.” Could this indicate that another couple at the firefighter station takes Pruitt in as part of their family?

Station 19 Season 5 Episode 5 airs on Nov. 11, 2021, at 8 p.m. EST followed by Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 at 9 p.m. However, it is a crossover event, so the storyline continues throughout both shows.
