‘Station 19’ Season 5 Episode 6: Thanksgiving preparations

The opening montage of Station 19 Season 5 Episode 6 shows clips of Vic Hughes’s (Barrett Doss) recovery from her electrocution and heart attack. She’s also dealing with the loss of Dean. However, she decides to join the firefighters for Thanksgiving.

Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) also has a tough time with everything and offers to cook Thanksgiving dinner to take his mind off things. Meanwhile, Ben brings Dean’s daughter, Pruitt, to the station, only to be called out on a fire. She makes everyone’s heartbreak when she repeatedly asks, “Where’s Daddy?” When a call comes in, Ben leaves Pruitt with Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre). Luckily Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) comes to the rescue.

Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden) confronts his father, Paul Montgomery (Robert Curtis Brown), about lying to his mother. Emmett Dixon (Lachlan Buchanan) humors Paul when he suggests they all share something they are grateful for. However, it leads to Paul screaming that he is “gay and in love with a man” in front of his wife (who did not know). Travis’s mother is appalled that Travis pushed Paul to tell the truth. She insists her marriage was fine even though she knew something was different.

Travis tells Emmett he wants his boyfriend on his side, not his father’s.

‘Station 19 Season 5 Episode 6: Ben Warren and Ingrid

Ben and Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe) head to inspect Ingrid’s (Lindsey Gort) new shop again. Viewers should recall that Ingrid came to the fire station looking for Ben in Station 19 Season 5 Episode 5 and 4. In the last episode viewers learned that Ingrid’s husband died from carbon monoxide poisoning only one year before her shop burned down. Ingrid’s very nervous about another fire in her shop, so she keeps calling. Ben invites her to Thanksgiving dinner at the station. Sullivan insists it’s not a good idea.

When Ingrid shows up at Station 19, she sees Miranda and realizes that Ben is married. She’s very caught off guard and wants to leave, but Ben insists she stay. Later, he finds her on the rooftop, and Ingrid admits she thought it was a date. She climbs up onto the railing and sits facing the edge. Ben tries to talk her into getting down. Ingrid thought she was getting romantically involved with Ben. After a lengthy discussion, he talks her down and gets her transported to Grey Sloan Memorial hospital for PTSD.

Station 23 prepares for Thanksgiving

The new girl at Station 23, Duval (Natasha Ward), asks why Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) made her get so much food. Andy explains that they are also making food for Captain Pat Aquino’s (Alain Uy) family since he was hurt in the explosion in the last episode.

Lieutenant Theo Ruiz (Carlos Miranda) worries Andy that Pruitt’s mother, JJ, might come back to try to take the little girl away. However, when Theo brings up Miller loving Vic, Andy gets upset. Luckily, she realizes that she’s trying to make Dean’s death about her. Andy apologizes to Theo.

Carina talks with Gibson about letting all of his grief out to let the light back in. However, at that moment, Travis’ mom realizes there is smoke coming from the oven. The firefighters can’t get the fire extinguisher into the oven because it’s set to clean instead of bake. The fire alarms and sprinklers go off in the kitchen, destroying the entire Thanksgiving meal. Luckily, Andy shows up at that moment with the dinner Station 23 prepared.
