Succession star Nicholas Braun plays Cousin Greg on the HBO drama — the great-nephew of media titan Logan Roy (Brian Cox). Many fans would describe “Greg the egg” as “painfully awkward,” innocent and naive, and a bit of a “dummy.”

At a lanky six-foot-seven, both Braun and his character really stand out in a crowd. And it’s often for unexpected reasons. As it turns out, Braun has a pretty surprising reputation in New York City…with the ladies.

The ‘Succession’ star opened a bar with Jennifer Aniston’s ex-husband

Ray’s is a bar on Chrystie Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and it’s recently become a popular hangout spot for some of social media’s favorite A-listers. Stars like Gigi Hadid, Kiernan Shipka, Channing Tatum, Zoe Kravitz, Shawn Mendes, B.J. Novak, and A$AP Rocky are often spotted at the watering hole. But, those celebs aren’t the main draw for a weekend crowd.

According to The New York Post, the young, single women at the bar are there to see the bar’s co-owner, Braun. The Succession star bought the bar with Jennifer Aniston’s ex-husband, Justin Theroux.

“I know he comes here a lot. I’m hoping to eventually see him,” one woman admitted to the outlet. “The reason I first went to Ray’s was, honestly, Nicholas Braun-motivated.”

Nicholas Braun has a surprising reputation with the ladies

Even though he’s often a supporting character in Hollywood, Braun is “the leading man of New York City nightlife.” Celebrity-sighting Instagram account DeuxMoi follows the actor all over the Big Apple, with contributors sharing sneaky pics taken with their phones when they spot him.

“He asked me for sugar and I could barely respond,” is the kind of comment you’ll find on those posts.

DeuxMoi contributors have spotted Braun at restaurants all over New York City — Fanelli’s, The Odeon, The Smile, and Cafe Mogador. As a rule, he has a beautiful woman by his side. When he was spotted partying at the bar Kinston Hall, the contributor said Braun was on a date with two brunettes who were “making out with one another.”

Thirsty women regularly track down the ‘Succession’ star

Photos of Braun are all over DeuxMoi. There are images of him taking a walk in Washington Square Park and at a “meatball eating contest in Little Italy.” But, the New York Post says the most likely place that thirsty women try to track down Braun is at Ray’s.

“He’s not a certified hottie or anything — he’s not a person who would normally be attractive to the general public,” Lauren Silverman, a neighbor of Braun’s who admits to “being in lust with” Braun, told the Post. “He’s relatable. If you met him on the street, he would probably be nice … He’s not totally untouchable.”

Nicholas Braun reportedly hooks up with women who slide into his DMs

Many women who have hooked up with Braun are quite chatty about their experience with the actor. From women who matched with him on the dating app Raya to those who have slid into his DM’s, they all say he’s just a “regular” guy.

One woman — who chose to stay anonymous because she’s still in a “semi-sexual” relationship with Braun — said the actor responded to her just hours after she sent him a direct message on Instagram. After a brief conversation, they planned their first date.

“It was actually really wholesome — it was during the day, and we just grabbed lunch,” she said. “He’s very sweet and somewhat introverted. I realized he’s not that different from his characters … they usually tend to be a little awkward, disorganized. He greeted me enthusiastically, and gave me a really big hug when we met.”

The ‘Succession’ star is a ‘player’

One New Yorker who went to Ray’s just to see Braun said her mission was ultimately successful even though she didn’t even talk to the Succession star.

“There’s this booth inside, to the left of the bar, where, like, friends of the bar sit. I looked over, and he was sitting there. Oh my God. I’ve finally seen Nicholas Braun,” she said.

Another woman — who was involved with Braun after meeting him via Instagram — said the actor’s ability to keep up with all of the women he’s seeing is quite impressive.

“He was asking me about my time at home [visiting family]. I know this man is a player, so it’s impressive that he can keep up with all these girls and their stories,” the woman explained.

New episodes of Succession air Sunday nights on HBO.
