During an emotional moment, Carl Radke broke down during the Summer House reunion when he discussed his brother Curtis’s death.

Radke had recently gotten sober last summer, months before his brother’s death from an accidental drug overdose. His brother’s death came as a shock and he shared what an immense struggle it was not only during the summer but this past winter. He’s now more than 90 days sober but said during the reunion that he doesn’t think he’d “be here” without his friends and his sobriety.

‘I probably wouldn’t be here right now,’ Carl Radke says

Radke got extremely real and emotional when he discussed his path to sobriety. As the cast discussed their support, Lindsay Hubbard pointed out that Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck reached out to Radke. Rosbach’s son also died from an accidental drug overdose and viewers saw him deal with the emotions from his loss during season 8.

Host Andy Cohen pointed out that Curtis’s death occurred as Radke was realizing he needed to get sober. “It’s a blessing in disguise that I had done the work I had done leading up to this past summer,” Radke said. “And I think had I been in the place I was in previous summers that I got that news, I probably wouldn’t be here right now.”

Radke called out close friend Kyle Cooke for his support. “I went down a dark path again this winter a little bit in December and January,” Radke said. “I was really bad. Really bad again. I mean I scared a lot of people. And Kyle, he came over to my apartment. And I didn’t know he knew I had been messed up for a couple of days. Well for months after … “

“He came over to my apartment and he told me he loved me,” Radke continued. Cooke is seen trying to hold back his tears as Radke begins to cry. “And like when you lose your brother, and you don’t have that male influence that you wanted for so long. Kyle’s been, my brother man.”

“Having him come over and show that care for me,” he continued. “It’s not about Loverboy. It’s not about anything else. I just want you to be OK and I’m here for you. And Kyle, I love you for that man.” The entire cast is now crying and emotional.

Ahead of the reunion, Radke shared on Instagram that he would not be here without the support and love he’s received.

“I wouldn’t be here today without the support of my family, friends and of course all the Bravo fans who have been supporting me since day 1,” he shared. “Reliving the passing of my brother was very difficult but I’m still reminded that I’m not alone. One day at a time. Thanks for allowing me to feel comfortable being this vulnerable and honest
