When does Season 2 of ‘Supermarket Sweep’ air?

Fans of the original Supermarket Sweep were in for a treat when the game show reboot premiered in October 2020. Aside from a new host, the show kept the original concept of the beloved game. The revival became a hit as part of ABC Sunday night lineup.

Due to the first season’s success, ABC renewed the show in May 2021. Now, the series is gearing up for its second season. According to TVShowsAce.com, Season 2 will premiere on Sept. 26 at 8 pm.

Where to watch Season 2?

Viewers can watch the season premiere live on ABC to watch the game show. However, it’s also available on streaming platforms as well. Hulu, Fubo TV, and ABC.com all offer live streams of the show.

For fans of the original Supermarket Sweep, there’s also good news. Netflix and Amazon Prime have episodes of the 90s’ version, hosted by David Ruprecht. So if fans want to take a trip down memory lane or prefer the new version, they’ll have plenty of viewing options.

The game show’s premise

The game show features three teams competing at a shot for big bucks. The first round consists of trivia questions about brands and food items. If a contestant answers correctly, they’ll receive extra time for the Big Sweep.

The Big Sweep is the pivotal part of the show as one team member rushes through the market to collect products and bonuses. In the end, the team with the highest total advances to the final round. For the Super Sweep round, the team must find three items to win $25,000. However, they have other incentives. Contestants can choose to go for a bonus of $50,000 with the added benefit of additional time on the clock. If they make it past the $50,000 challenge, they then have the option of competing for $100,000. However, if they fail to get the items in time, they lose the Super Sweep money.
