Taylor Swift released a snippet of ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’

Fans heard an extended version of “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” in a May 17 commercial for Spirit Untamed. And around a month later, fans have begun to wonder when they would get the full song released officially. Swift teased “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” in a similar manner a few months before releasing the song to the world in February 2021. She also gave fans a sneak-peak listen in a commercial for that song. And a couple of months after that, Swift put out Fearless (Taylor’s Version) — the first of her re-recorded albums to come.

Swift fans have debated over the release order of her re-recorded albums. But many think that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is next. However, there has been no formal announcement from the singer about an upcoming release. So fans decided to make their desires for a full 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album heard.

Swifties came out on Twitter to show that they think 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is coming. They tweeted their theories, including an apparent change in the Taylor Nation Twitter account saying “Born December 13, 1989” on its profile. People decided to get the album name trending, without any formal announcement or indication officially from Swift’s team that the album might be on the way.

“#1989TaylorsVersion continues to trend on Twitter with over 30k tweets as Swifties deliberately make an attempt to start the new era without Taylor herself,” a Taylor Swift Facts account stated on Twitter.

This is what Taylor Swift has said on social media that has indicated ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ is coming next

As for Swift herself, she’s been keeping everything tight-lipped in regards to what is next. While that’s nothing new, there have been a slew of theories on what re-recorded album Swift has up her sleeves. She wore a 1989-like two-piece glitter set to the 2021 Brit Awards, which she shared pictures of on social media. But the red lip was definitely akin to her Red era lipstick.

What also made fans think 1989 is coming next is that Swift talked about pizza on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Swift started her pizza parties — which later turned into her secret sessions — during the 1989 album release era. Furthermore, pizza is often synonymous with New York City — which is associated with 1989 since Swift had just moved to the city when creating the album. And, of course, “Welcome to New York” is a track on the album and one of its hit singles.

We won’t know what’s coming until Swift says anything. But 1989 (Taylor’s Version)? You could say we’re ready for it.
