In the mid-2010s, Taylor Swift became known for surrounding herself with her A-list friends, famously known as her “squad.” From featuring them in her music videos to attending red carpets events with them by her side, Swift never shied away from showing off her famous buddies.

But lately, the singer hasn’t been hanging out with her girl squad as much as she used to. Instead, the recording artist has been spending time with some of her other celebrity friends, many of which you probably know.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

In addition to Gigi Hadid, Martha Hunt, and Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift counts actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds as her BFFs.

The couple is believed to have grown close with the “Blank Space” singer after she hung out with the Gossip Girl star while on tour in Australia in 2015. The three celebrities later bonded after Swift bought her lavish pad in New York City.

Lively and Reynolds have been two of Swift’s closest friends throughout the years, having spent holidays with her and attended several of her A-list parties.

Swift is even close with the couple’s three daughters, whom she paid tribute to during her Album of The Year acceptance speech at the 63rd Grammy Awards held earlier this year.

“I want to thank James, Inez, and Betty and their parents who are the second people that I play every new song that I write,” Swift said, proving that Lively and Reynolds are not only her friends, but two of her biggest supporters.

Halsey

Another one of Taylor Swift’s friends is fellow singer Halsey. Though it’s unclear when the two became buddies, they have been linked since the “Bad At Love” singer attended Swift’s star-studded 30th birthday in 2019.

Though not much is know about their friendship, Halsey previously revealed to ELLE Australia that they and Swift have confided in each other about life in the spotlight.

“If I could make sense of everything that was going on in the world right now, I wouldn’t be a musician,” Halsey told the magazine. “Taylor Swift and I were once talking about our positions as female in culture and she said, ‘We’re not gladiators, we’re musicians.'”

Ed Sheeran

Taylor Swift and singer Ed Sheeran go way back.

The pair first became close in 2012 after Sheeran learned that Swift had written lyrics to one of his songs on her arm during a show in Australia. Later that year, the “Bad Habits” singer had a quick meeting with Swift’s manager in Nashville, ultimately bringing them together.

The two have been friends ever since.

Not only have they written songs together (2012 single “Everything Has Changed”), Swift and Sheeran have also performed together onstage many times. They even collaborated on Swift’s 2017 song “End Game,” which Sheeran co-wrote.

Maisie Williams

One of Taylor Swift’s most recent friendships is with Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams.

The two had a sweet moment at the 2021 Brit Awards earlier this year. During the event, the actor presented the singer with the Global Icon Award while seemingly fan-girling at the same time.

“Her ability to stand up for what she believes in has made her an inspiration to people all around the world,” Williams said, suggesting she’s as big a fan of Taylor.

After accepting the award, Swift gushed over Williams, whom she admitted to being a fan of during her acceptance speech.

“Anyone who knows me at all knows that Game Of Thrones is my life,” Swift expressed. “So, the fact that Maisie was here to present this… I want to grab you, but I can’t because we’re social distancing, but I want to thank you so much for coming here to do this.”

Olivia Rodrigo

Taylor Swift may have plenty of famous friends, but she recently added one more to her inner circle.

Earlier this year, Swift grew close with singer Olivia Rodrigo after publicly praising the young sensation’s music. The two bonded over their admiration for one another and went on to become fast friends. Not only did Swift let Rodrigo listen to Fearless (Taylor’s Version) before it dropped, she also sent the “Drivers License” singer a special gift, which the teen later gushed about during an interview.

“[Taylor] is absolutely the kindest individual in the whole world,” Rodrigo expressed while appearing on Sirius XM in March 2021. “Actually last night, literally like 12 hours ago, I got a package from her with this handwritten note and she gave me this ring because she said she wore one just like it when she wrote Red. She wanted me to have one like it”
