Following Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will head in a new direction. New characters will come to the forefront — She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor — as original saviors continue to depart the landscape. And, though many upcoming projects have been confirmed, several productions now possible due to the Fox/Disney merger remain undisclosed. Yet, thanks to insider reports, comments from those involved, as well as sheer narrative and financial plausibility surrounding the MCU, five movies seem destined to make their way to the silver screen…eventually.

1. The Fantastic Four

While a Fantastic Four movie has yet to be announced, Disney will not allow its new access to the family of explorers to go unused. Rumor has it that Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) could even make a solo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, setting up a  future Fantastic Four film.

Considering Fox has butchered these characters (and their origin tale) multiple times, it’s up to Disney to get it right. And, now that the heroes are under Kevin Feige’s care, hopes and expectations remain high.

2. The X-Men

Fox has produced many X-Men movies. And, time and again, the saga primarily emphasized three characters in particular — Wolverine, Magento, and Professor X. These men were always at the center of the fray. Thus, when mutantkind joins the franchise, Marvel Studios will have to ensure a new illustration — one that does not merely mimic the Fox one. Thus, new characters may take center stage. With rumors that Rogue could join in Captain Marvel 2 and that Storm could be coming in Black Panther 2, different mutants and different comic book conflicts could define the group under the Disney umbrella.

3. New/Young Avengers

A new team of Avengers will come forward in time. Hawkeye will train his successor Kate Bishop in the upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye, Further, considering Harley Keener of Iron Man 3 appeared at Stark’s funeral in Endgame, many have jumped to the presumption that the young man will play Iron Lad. And, with She-Hulk coming, and rumors that Young Loki could become a prominent figure in the landscape, a Young Avengers film seems inevitable.

4. X-Men vs. Avengers or X-Men/Avengers team-up

You can’t introduce the X-Men without pairing such characters up with the Avengers. What’s the point of a merger if fans don’t get to see the worlds merge on-screen. In the comic books, various X-Men and Avengers characters team up and go head-to-head depending on the story at play. It’s a no brainer…Kevin Feige will bring our beloved Avengers and familiar mutants together on the screen.

5. The A-Force

The MCU has already begun laying the groundwork for the all-female Avengers team, the A-Force. Captain Marvel is set to become a focal point moving forward. Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor will appear in Love and Thunder, She-Hulk is on the way, Valkyrie is already present and growing in significance (she is now the King of Asgard). The A-Force will definitely cement a presence, but likely not as a unified group until Phase 5 or later.
