‘The Bachelor’: Matt James’ Latest Trailer Shows Infinitely Better Dates Than ‘The Bachelorette’; ‘They Did Them Dirty This Season’
The Bachelor with Matt James airs on Jan. 4, 2021, and the trailers do not disappoint. The Bachelorette with leads Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley ends on Dec. 22, 2020. Fans already point out numerous differences between the dates. Viewers feel that the producers “really did them dirty this season,” with the lack of exciting date opportunities.
‘The Bachelorette’ Fantasy Suite dates with Tayshia Adams are ‘strange’ this season
On The Bachelorette on Dec. 21, Tayshia Adams took Ivan Hall on a very “strange” fantasy suite date. First, the couple sat in buckets full of ice-cold water and kissed to break a world record for the “longest cold kiss.” Later that evening, their fantasy suite was in a camping trailer.
“I think the producers of The Bachelor did Ivan dirty,” one fan wrote on Reddit after seeing Ivan’s fantasy suite. “I was expecting both of them to come out with cricks in their backs.”
Other fans agreed that the camping trailer was not a very pleasant overnight date.
“I thought the same thing,” another fan added. “They have that whole resort, and Ivan’s fantasy suite is in a damn RV?!? Not cool.”
For Zac Clark’s fantasy suite date, the couple painted each other and rolled around in the paint until it turned almost brown. Later in the evening, Zac Clark’s fantasy suite with Adams was in a nicer resort room than the RV.

One significant difference between the latest Bachelorette season and the upcoming Bachelor season is the resort locations. The franchise moved from Bachelor Mansion amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They needed a larger site to film with more options for dates since the contestants can’t travel.
Adams and Crawley went on dates around the La Quinta Resort and Spa near Santa Monica, California. However, fans complained that the dates were the “same old recycled” thing they have seen before. Also, there was no traveling to exotic locations like in the past because of the global pandemic.
“Wait, so Tayshia has to carry a wooden taxi around in 100-degree heat, but Matt gets a helicopter date?” one fan asked on Reddit after watching a teaser for James’ season.
In the latest trailer for The Bachelor with Matt James, fans watched him zip-lining, riding in a helicopter, and four-wheeling through the wilderness. Various dates look more exciting than what Crawley or Adams was able to do. His season was filmed at the Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania. From the previews, it looks much nicer than The Bachelorette’s resort.
Fans are ready for Matt James’ season in January
After a full season of dates around a resort in California, fans are ready for a change of pace. From the previews, it looks like James’ filming location had a lot more options.
“If they’re still filming, they have great weather now,” another fan added. “I drove through the area yesterday, and it’s still gorgeously covered in snow. I felt like I was on a Christmas card.”
