Clare Crawley hasn’t had the easiest time on The Bachelorette. She fell in love with contestant Dale Moss early on and wasn’t able to give the other men a fair shot at vying for her heart. Because of this, production brought in Tayshia Adams to fill in for Crawley. Despite most people knowing how Crawley’s portion of the season was going to go due to production leaks, the Bachelorette has still gotten a lot of flack for her actions. And apparently, she isn’t too happy about how she’s been portrayed.

Clare Crawley shuts down the rumors

Before the season began airing, there were a number of rumors going around that Crawley and Moss started speaking before filming and formed a connection before any of the other men even had a chance.

However, Crawley denied those rumors.

“Blake[Moynes] was the only person that messaged me, the only person I had any contact, talked to, any sort of communication with,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “We’re given these rules to respect the process of it all and I definitely 100% respected the process.”

Another rumor was that Crawley was so in love with Moss that she locked herself in a closet and refused to film any more of the show. She also denied those claims.

“I did not quit the show,” she told the outlet. “I stayed the whole time, I went, I did what I was going to do there. I showed up, I didn’t quit anything.”

And as for the closet incident, Crawley denied that as well.

“I can promise you I did not lock myself in a closet,” Crawley continued. “That was one [rumor] I heard that I was throwing a fit and I locked myself in a closet.”

Clare is upset

Crawley has been labeled by some fans as one of the worst Bachelorettes in history due to her not giving the other men a chance. Host Chris Harrison even told her that she “blew up” The Bachelorette. With all of the bad press she’s been getting, Crawley has been feeling a little down.

“On most days, she’s feeling really down about the things that people are saying about her online and the editing of the show,” former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas said on The Ben And Ashley I Almost Famous podcast of Crawley.

“So, actually, the girls and I, we all sent her some flowers today just to let her know that we love her and this is a blip,” she continued.

While Pappas has been consoling Crawley, she also offered her and Moss some advice.

“What I encouraged both of them to do is definitely enjoy the ride, take the opportunities because they’ll forever change the way their lives go and to love it and enjoy it but also to nurture and take care of what they have,” she said.

“So, I think that would make her so happy just to be in Sacramento and live her life and live her love story with Dale and she’s totally fine with that,” Pappas continued. “She’s waited a really long time.”

The Bachelorette airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
