Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette has gotten started and she is cutting men out left and right. Before coming on as the lead, Crawley made it known that she was not there to put up with nonsense or games. So, when she had one of the most cringeworthy conversations with a contestant in Bachelorette history, she had to send him home.

Clare Crawley knows what she wants

Crawley has been in the Bachelor franchise for a while. She appeared on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor, two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, and the first season of The Bachelor Winter Games. So, she’s been around the franchise long enough to know what she wants.

When filming started, it was clear to everyone, even host Chris Harrison, that Crawley was sincere about wanting to find love.

“She came into this unbelievably sincere and serious about finding love, finding a man, and it really wasn’t about the pomp and circumstance for her,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight. “It wasn’t about all the pageantry. It was about coming in and finding somebody, and I really respect the fact that this woman knows exactly what she wants and she is not afraid to go get it.”

Brandon Goss knew nothing about her

People often begin applying to be on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette before the lead is announced so they don’t know who they will be competing for when they apply.

On last night’s episode, Brandon Goss told Crawley that he, however, specifically came on the show for her.

“When I found out that you were the Bachelorette, I had to be here,” he told Crawley. But when she asked what it was about her that made him want to come on, he struggled to find an answer.

“First of all, you’re obviously absolutely gorgeous,” he said. “But other than that, to be honest with you, I don’t really know anything about you. I know that you’re from Sacremento.”

When she continued to press him, Goss scrambled to think of something.

“I obviously don’t know you on a personal level and don’t know your history,” he said. “You’re just so beautiful and I wanted to get to know you.”

Crawley then asked if there was anything other than her looks that he liked about her.

“I don’t have a specific answer for you,” he said. “Can we not talk about that?”

Unfortunately for Goss, the conversation was enough for her to send him home immediately.

Dale Moss comes to the rescue

Throughout the episode, Crawley became increasingly frustrated that it seemed like no one wanted to spend time with her. On the evening portion of the group date, it seemed that Crawley spent a large amount of time waiting to be pulled away for private conversations. Eventually, Bennett Jordan pulled her aside but told her that the guys were enjoying hanging out with one another.

Crawley then confronted the men about not being serious about spending time with her. Yosef Aborady responded by calling Crawley “crazy” for thinking that the men weren’t trying to spend time with her. Frontrunner Dale Moss, on the other hand, stepped in to comfort her.

“I hated that Clare felt that she didn’t matter and someone didn’t fight for her,” he told the cameras. “That bothered me.”

At the next cocktail party, he assured Crawley that he was there for her.

“There’s a deep connection,” Moss said. “I really want you to know how much I trust you and I’m not afraid to be myself or to talk in detail and in depth. In every other relationship when I needed someone the most, I felt like I was left high and dry.”

So, while another Goss bit the dust, Moss continued to move to the front of the race.
