‘The Bachelorette’: Greg Grippo Says He Isn’t Dating Bri Springs After Katie Thurston Split

Right before The Bachelorette Season 17 finale on Aug. 9, Bachelor Nation fans started buzzing about a potential new romance brewing between Greg Grippo and Bri Springs. The two reality stars were spotted together in New York City. But now, Greg revealed he isn’t dating Bri — here’s what the 28-year-old said about the whole situation.

Greg is from Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette. The couple had a strong start, and Greg became an early frontrunner. However, the relationship crumbled after Hometowns. Greg needed more reassurance from the lead. However, Katie still had other relationships she needed to see through. So the contestant self-eliminated.

Meanwhile, Bri was on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor. Early on, Bri had a strong connection with the lead, and she even quit her job as a communications manager to be on the show. The contestant also made it through to Fantasy Suite week. But Bri was sent home in week 9.

Following Greg and Katie’s breakup on The Bachelorette, the contestant was seen with Bri by a fan. So some Bachelor Nation fans wondered whether Bri and Greg were dating. 

That said, Bri seemingly denied the rumors. According to E! News, The Bachelor star posted an Instagram Story of herself holding hands with another man to reveal her “current relationship status.” However, Bri didn’t give away her boyfriend’s identity.

Meanwhile, Greg spoke to Nick Viall on The Viall Files and denied that he was dating Bri.

“Oh God, I couldn’t believe waking up the next day to that,” Greg said. “Bri is just a friend. I’m pretty sure she has a boyfriend.”

Greg also revealed how he knows Bri, revealing that they connected through The Bachelor franchise.

“She was in my part of town. I’m in Hell’s Kitchen right now, and she was grabbing dinner,” Greg said. “She was like, ‘Hey, don’t know what you’re doing. Do you want to have food with my friends and I?’ I said let’s do it. It was nothing but friendly, honestly.”

He later added, “We had a lot of food. She knows how to pick a good spot.”

While Greg and Bri aren’t together after The Bachelorette, many fans continue to focus on his relationship with Katie on the show. The breakup was a big moment on the ABC reality series. Then when speaking on The Viall Files, Greg revealed that he told his family he might still get back together with Katie after everything that happened.

“I kept on telling them, ‘Just letting you know guys, there is a slight possibility we may get together still.’ There was some ounce of hope,” Greg said. “I just wanted to believe if it was meant to be, we’re going to find a way at the end of the day.”

That said, Greg understood his relationship with Katie wasn’t meant to be. Meanwhile, The Bachelorette contestant shared how he felt about his breakup with Katie. On “After the Final Rose,” Greg claimed he had no regrets. But now, he’s re-watched the season, and it seems he feels differently.

“Watching it for a second time with all the viewers, I came off like an a–. I came off like a petulant child at times,” Greg said. “And I regret it because at the end of the day, she doesn’t deserve that. I definitely projected all of my insecurities and my anger on her.”
