While Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette was less of a rollercoaster and more of a short ride around the block, she did get her happy ending. In last night’s episode, she told Dale Moss how she felt, he reciprocated her feelings and proposed. Now that Tayshia Adams is the Bachelorette, fans want the same happy ending for her, but she might not get it.

Who is Tayshia Adams?

Adams first appeared on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. She made it to the top three and really earned a spot in fans’ hearts after she comforted Underwood while he was breaking up with her. Afterward, she went on Bachelor in Paradise, where she had relationships with Derek Peth and John Paul Jones. She ended the season with Jones but ultimately the two didn’t work out.

Tayshia as the Bachelorette

Getting the men to accept a new Bachelorette after going all in for Crawley was going to be tough to pull off. So, ABC tried to pick a lead that was somewhat similar to Crawley.

“Tayshia had been through a divorce, so I think there is a lot of maturity that comes with that, and she is super serious about settling down, just like Clare was, so it actually did not seem like a huge stretch for these guys,” ABC executive Rob Mills told Variety. “Also, you have to remember that we cast a lot of guys that weren’t necessarily announced for Clare because she was announced as the Bachelorette so late, so some of these guys would have been there for someone else that was chosen as the lead, anyway.”

Though she agreed to come on, Adams knew what she was up against and didn’t know if ultimately the men would be into her or if she would get that fairytale ending that Bachelorette leads hope for.

“I just know that this process moves very quickly and you start to invest a lot of feelings really early on,” she told host Chris Harrison of the men on last night’s episode. “I don’t know if that’s the case for some of them, and if so, I am more than happy to have that conversation with them if they don’t feel like this is the right time for them or I’m not right for them.”

Is Tayshia Adams engaged? (Spoilers ahead)

Not every season of the show necessarily ends in an engagement, though the ones that don’t aren’t very well received by fans. According to Bachelor expert, Reality Steve, Adams picks Zac C. in the end but they don’t get engaged. And after the season, things don’t go too well for them either.

“As for where they stand now, that’s anybody’s guess,” Steve wrote on his blog. “Some people have told me they aren’t together, some have told me they still are but it’s not that solid, and some have said it’s never gonna last. She’s a SoCal girl who wants to be an influencer. He runs a sober living facility in NY. So that’s where we stand at this point. I know people will scour their IG pages for any clue they can find, but I wouldn’t count on anything being spoiled there. But when filming wrapped at the end of August, Tayshia had chosen Zac C. over Ben.”
