Katie Thurston is getting a lot of attention for being a new reality star, and not all of it is good. The Bachelorette star announced she has a new rule to block certain fans after receiving the same kind of comments repeatedly.

Katie Thurston wore a Randi Rahm gown on the first night

Thurston met her cast of men in a red and lacey gown. The designer is Randi Rahm, and there were some changes made just for the reality star.

“What I loved most about this dress is that we tweaked it to be unique to me. The outside layer was actually on the inside,” Thurston told Bachelor Nation. “We redesigned the dress to match what I wanted. It’s this one-of-a-kind look that’s bright and fiery. It’s different than what you typically see on the first night. I’m not a neutral girl. That’s not my personality. I can be a firecracker sometimes!”

The season continued, and Thurston has worn more dresses. But she received so many comments that she revealed a new rule for herself.

Some fans aren’t impressed with Thurston’s fashion on the show, and they made it known. Thurston decided to address all of the feedback she’s been receiving in an Instagram Story on June 16.

“All right, I’m creating a new rule for myself,” she announced in a video. “Anyone who wants to message me about my part, or my fashion or lack thereof, I’m just gonna block you.” She then laughed.

“I mean, I know a lot of you guys don’t have any hate about it,” she added. “They’re just giving me friendly suggestions, but when you get them every day, it’s just like, god damn. Look I’m just like your basic f*cking girl who became bachelorette.”

Thurston said she likes to say it’s not about the wrapping paper but the gift inside. So she doesn’t think how her hair or clothes are styled should matter so much.

The contestants of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have to bring their own clothes for the show. Some people buy their clothes for different occasions, and other people are able to borrow clothes. But the rules are different for the stars.

Stylist Cary Fetman helps the star look their best throughout the season. It’s a good thing the stars don’t have to pay for their dresses because Fetman claimed he spent more than $350,000 on clothes for Emily Maynard’s season, according to Today.

That’s because designers like Christian Louboutin and Randi Rahm were used. That tradition has continued with Thurston’s season with the choice for her first dress.
