In her official ABC bio for The Bachelor, Young revealed what she was looking for in her dream man.

She described herself as loyal, compassionate, and supportive and showed her love for others via acts of service.

Young once claimed that her dream man was “confident but not cocky and will look at her as his equal in all things.”

According to her bio, Michelle had big dreams for the future and said she wanted a man by her side that was “supportive and driven to make the world a better place.” She was looking for “the superman to her superwoman.”

Young came in second to Rachael Kirkconnell and ahead of Bri Springs during Matt James’ season of The Bachelor. She was beloved by fans for the way she honestly navigated her journey on the show. Although a late arrival to the season, she quickly caught James’ eye.

Young revealed her love for philanthropy and helping children to James, who shared a similar vision. He runs ABC Food Tours with Tyler Cameron, a nonprofit that introduces underprivileged children to new foods.

Her passions led her to a full-time teaching job as a fifth-grade teacher at Echo Park Elementary School. She won fans’ hearts with the help of her students, who sported “Team Miss Young” T-shirts.

During a memorable Skype session with James, Young’s students asked The Bachelor lead tough questions about his feelings for Young. One student asks Michelle, “Is that your boyfriend?” The pair burst out in laughter before another questioned the couple, asking, “Have you guys kissed yet?”
