‘The Bachelorette’: Tayshia Adams Teases ‘Twists and Turns’ on Katie Thurston’s Season

The Bachelorette Season 17 premiere is coming out on Monday, June 7, and Tayshia Adams recently dropped a few clues about Katie Thurston’s journey. Here’s what the new host had to say about the next lead.

Who is Tayshia Adams from ‘The Bachelor’ franchise?

In case you need a refresher, Adams joined Bachelor Nation during Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. The former phlebotomist quickly became a fan-favorite and went on Bachelor in Paradise Season 6, where she sparked a romance with John Paul Jones. But as they say, it wasn’t meant to be.

Nevertheless, Adams found her perfect match when she became the lead of The Bachelorette Season 16 after Clare Crawley. Now, Adams is happily engaged to her final rose pick, Zac Clark.

Meanwhile, Adams became The Bachelorette Season 17 host, alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe. The two Bachelor Nation stars were announced after Chris Harrison stepped aside from the franchise.

In May 2021, Adams opened up about Thurston’s journey in The Bachelorette Season 17. But ultimately, the new host thinks fans should tune in because of all the “twists and turns” each week.

“You’re gonna want to watch her journey unfold. I feel like every week, there was a ‘you have got to be kidding me’ [moment],” Adams told Cosmopolitan. “I’ve already gone through all of it, and the fact that I was still like that was funny to me. There’s a lot of twists and turns.”

Even so, it seems Adams is confident in Thurston’s new role as the bachelorette. “She’s a strong confident girl that knows what she wants,” Adams said of the next lead. “She’s figured it out however she’s supposed to.”

Then when asked about her relationship with Thurston, Adams shared she was “extremely happy” for The Bachelorette Season 17 star. “Doing the entire journey and process is a lot on oneself, and she did a phenomenal job being true to herself,” Adams said.

While Adams is excited for Bachelor Nation fans to watch Thurston’s love story on The Bachelorette Season 17, it seems we’re still in for another dramatic cycle. In an interview with Extra, Adams responded to the rumors that Thurston’s season is “challenging” and “hard.” She said:

It is a tough journey, in general. You’re there to find love, but it’s a really transformative experience as well. You really push yourself, and you really have to rely on your own intuition, your own instinct. It can be hard at times to make sure you’re making the right decision. So thankfully, Kaitlyn and I were there to help her out. But it’s tough for everybody.

Then when speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Adams teased what she will bring to the table as the new host alongside Bristowe. Adams said:

Kaitlyn and I really created this fun dynamic duo that has never been done before. I think that it provided a lot of strength and confidence behind Katie. When you’re in that situation, sometimes you don’t know what to do. We were able to provide a little bit of clarity and help for her. Katie is a strong, confident woman that knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to do what she has to do to get that. So it’s gonna be good.
