Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette premieres this fall and already it’s shaping up to be wildly dramatic with lots of twists and turns. More than one publication has confirmed that Crawley has stepped down from the lead role and that Tayshia Adams is stepping in. There have been a few rumors from anonymous sources as to why exactly but, apparently, there’s more to the story.

Clare Crawley has reportedly already fallen in love with one of her ‘Bachelorette’ contestants

“One of her potential guys found a way to get in touch with her and they began talking,” one source told People. “By the time filming officially began, they were basically already in love. No one else stood a chance. It just became so obvious from her subsequent few dates that her heart wasn’t in it and she just wasn’t feeling it. Then she said she wanted out.”

The source also said that Adams was the back-up.

“Tayshia was game and ready to go,” they said. “What remains to be seen is if more men will be brought in now to give Tayshia a full roster of suitors.”

According to E! News, the 16th season of The Bachelorette will still feature Crawley and her (brief) love story and then switch over to Adams.

“The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors… Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead,” a source told the publication.

More to the story

However, People’s source also teased that Crawley falling for one of her contestants early isn’t the full story.

“There’s more to the story than just [Clare Crawley] falling for someone and not wanting to see what else could happen with other men,” they said.

Reality Steve predicted that perhaps Crawley hadn’t been getting along with production and that’s why her contract ended early.

The reality TV blogger did an Instagram Live with Ashley Spivey from The Bachelor where he mentioned that Crawley could be butting heads with producers.

But he also tweeted on Aug. 5 that there technically aren’t any “rules” when it comes to The Bachelor franchise. Maybe this is just what happened and there aren’t any sore feelings between Crawley and ABC.

“But just to see the Rule Police come out with pitchforks towards Clare when there’s never any “rules” on this show, especially in recent seasons, is kind of a joke. Lets let everything play out first. You may be pleasantly surprised,” he wrote.

We’ll have to wait and see what really transpired between Crawley and ABC. Did she simply fall in love and call it quits early? Or did things get messy between her and the network? Either way, we’re hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
