‘The Bachelorette’: What Fans Think of Dale Moss and Clare Crawley’s Engagement

The Bachelorette officially has a new lead with Tayshia Adams. In the fourth episode of Season 16 of The Bachelorette, fans saw Clare Crawley and Dale Moss get engaged. While a lot of excitement went to Adams being announced as the new Bachelorette, here is what fans think of Crawley and Moss’ fast-tracked engagement.

The couple fell in love quickly on ‘The Bachelorette’

For Crawley, it was love at first sight. From the first episode of this season of The Bachelorette, she knew that Moss was the one for her. In the fourth episode of the season, host Chris Harrison reveals that the other contestants have caught on to Crawley’s feelings for Moss.

Crawley decides that she wants to spend as much time with Moss as possible, and they have a one-on-one date. The two acknowledge their mutual feelings, and by the end of the episode Moss has proposed and they are engaged.

Clare Crawley faced some criticism from fans of ‘The Bachelorette’

Throughout Crawley’s half of the season, she faced criticism on social media from fans for solely focusing on Moss. She was accused of ruining the show for not playing by the rules, and some fans wrote that they hoped that Moss and Crawley did not last.

After Moss and Crawley’s engagement aired on The Bachelorette on Nov. 5, the two held an Instagram Live to thank the fans who supported them. Whenever someone wrote a negative comment during the livestream, Crawley and Moss laughed it off.

On Oct. 6, Crawley and Moss appeared on Good Morning America, and Crawley was asked about the criticism she faced.

“I’d be lying if I said it’s been easy because I’m human,” she said. “The things people say without knowing the full truth and without seeing exactly how things really happened and genuinely happened, it just blows my mind…”

A majority of fans seem supportive of Clare Crawley and Dale Moss

While there are some detractors who are against Crawley and Moss being happy, it seems that a majority of fans of The Bachelorette are supportive of the couple. Over the past few days, Moss and Crawley have appeared on TV shows and podcasts, which has given fans more insight into their relationship.

“This episode turned it all around for me. I really like both of them and I’m def rooting for them. It was nice to see legit love on this show for once,” a Reddit user wrote after the couple’s engagement aired.

Another Reddit user wrote, “Yeah somehow within one episode I went from rolling my eyes to really rooting for them! I think this was the episode where they showed his reciprocation the most and more of their dynamic! They’re really cute together honestly.”

After Moss and Crawley appeared on the podcast Bachelor Happy Hour, fans commented on the maturity of their relationship.

“I really enjoyed that podcast and even though it’s early, I have hope these two will work out. They were a lot more relaxed and I don’t feel it’s all physical with them like we saw on the show,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “They talk about race and how it will affect their future kids because they’ll be biracial… They’re not just living in the bubble and living in a fairytale romance.”
