The Blacklist Season 9 has slowly been filling in the blanks from the two years following Liz Keen’s death. When fans caught back up with Park, she was training FBI agents and married to a man named Peter. Episode 11 explained how Park met her husband, and what she got up to during the two-year time jump.

Agent Park joined an organization known as The Conglomerate after Liz died

In The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 11, the task force investigates a company of assassins known as the Conglomerate. Meanwhile, Agent Park gets a visit from an old acquaintance named John Richter. It turns out that Park thought of Liz as a sort of “guardian angel.” She was lost for a while after her death, and The Conglomerate reached out in the form of Richter.

Park agrees to join the organization. At the time, The Conglomerate worked under the government to take out dangerous and monstrous individuals. A flashback reveals that Park and Richter started hooking up while out on their missions. Richter even saved Park’s life at one point.

Now, however, The Conglomerate is selling its services to the highest bidder. Park reveals to the task force that she was a former member of the Conglomerate and that Richter reached out to her. She helps them take down the organization, though she does show some regret for betraying Richter.

‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Episode 11 explained how Agent Park met her husband

In the midst of all of Agent Park’s assassin work, she met a man who would become her husband. In one flashback scene, Park talks on the phone with a friend who is trying to set her up with a guy who runs a chain of movie theaters. Park seems less than enthusiastic about it, but she allows the friend to give him her number.

In another flashback, Park prepares to board a plane, but first, she meets up with the movie theater guy. This man, her future husband Peter, ends up surprising her with his humor and the two engage in a friendly debate over Casablanca. As it turns out, Park never boarded the plane to meet Richter and her time in The Conglomerate ended.

In the present day, Park explains to the Conglomerate why she stayed with the organization for such a short amount of time. “Killing was easy. Laughter was hard. I needed more of it,” she says, referencing her husband.

Does Peter know more than he seems?

Unfortunately, at the end of the episode, Richter manages to avoid being arrested. Instead, he breaks into Park’s home and kidnaps her husband. Park manages to overpower Richter and beats him to death in the living room while Peter watches, horrified. After this, Park decides not to keep any more secrets from her husband, including Raymond Reddington.

Peter seems like a sweet and unassuming character, but The Blacklist fans are beginning to wonder if there’s more to him. “Still getting a Tom vibe from Peter. He perked up when she said ‘Raymond Reddington,'” one Reddit user wrote. “Why do I get the distinct impression that Park/Peter is Tom/Liz 2.0?” another fan said. Could it be possible that Peter is more than he seems?

New episodes of The Blacklist air Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
