‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Delayed By NBC — When Will The James Spader Series Be Back on the Air?
A lot has changed in The Blacklist since the series first aired in 2013. The Blacklist Season 9 said goodbye to star Megan Boone and creator Jon Bokenkamp. Now, new episodes of the show have been off the air for a couple of weeks. Fans are worried that they won’t see The Blacklist again. Luckily, The Blacklist Season 9 will be back, but there’s a little bit longer to wait before episode 6 is released.
‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 has been delayed several weeks
The Blacklist Season 9 returned to viewers’ screens on Oct. 21, 2021. Since then, the new season has released a total of five episodes. The most recent episode, “Benjamin T. Okara,” aired on Nov. 18, 2021.
The task force deals with a blacklister named Benjamin T. Okara, the chief engineer in charge of expanding a directed energy weapon. The task force realizes that Okara is taking out the other engineers who worked on the project with him.
The episode also saw turmoil in almost every characters’ life. Cooper is still struggling to uncover the truth about who killed his former neighbor Doug Koster. Red and Dembe’s friendship is in a worse place than ever before.
Finally, Park learns that she had a miscarriage after being hit by Okara’s weapon. It’s a tense place for NBC to leave off their favorite characters, and fans want to know what happens next.
When will ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 return?
The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 6 won’t air until Dec. 9, 2021. The new episode is titled “Dr. Roberta Sand, Ph.D.,” but NBC hasn’t released much information besides that. Fans have certainly noticed the frustrating lack of promos for The Blacklist this season. With very little to go on it’s hard to get an idea of what the next episode could be about.
It’s also likely that episode 6 will be the only new The Blacklist content that fans will get for the rest of the year. The series often goes on a “winter break” of sorts for the holidays, as do many NBC shows. It’s possible that after The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 6, fans won’t get a new episode until 2022.
Is the series confirmed for season 10?
NBC has not yet officially renewed the series for season 10, so fans have no way of knowing if The Blacklist Season 9 will be the last. However, the show has a pretty good chance of renewal. Despite the changes introduced in the new season, The Blacklist has always had a loyal fan base. Many fans will keep watching as long as the show’s lead James Spader stays on.
