NBC hasn’t been doing a lot to promote The Blacklist Season 9, and fans have definitely noticed. The show has been on hiatus since January while the network aired the Winter Olympics. The series is finally coming back and moving to a new day of the week. NBC recently released a promo announcing the return of season 9, and Red is shown visiting Liz Keen’s grave.

‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 returns after a month-long haitus

The Blacklist Season 9 has not aired a new episode since Jan. 20th. The show went on break while NBC aired the Winter Olympics. The series is also getting a scheduling shake-up, moving to Friday nights instead of Thursdays. Episode 10 is titled “Arcane Wireless” and will air on Feb. 25.

The last fans saw of Raymond Reddington, he realized that someone must have helped Vandyke find Liz Keen on the night of her death. Red reconciles with Dembe and asks his former bodyguard to join him in searching for Vandyke’s accomplice.

NBC released a new promo for ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9

Fans of The Blacklist haven’t been given too many hints about what’s coming next in Season 9. However, NBC recently released a promo video for the show’s return this Friday on their Instagram. The promo teases that Red’s quest for answers about the night of Liz’s death has just begun.

In the video, Red pays a visit to Liz’s grave. It’s possible that this is the first time Red has visited her since she died, considering he went into hiding shortly after. The clip is somewhat reminiscent of The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 7 when Donald Ressler visits Liz’s grave for the first time.

The episode flashed back to Ressler’s life in the years after Liz’s death as he chatted with her at her graveside. Although this is purely speculation, it’s possible that Red’s graveside visit will also include some flashbacks to his life in the two years following Liz’s death.

The promo also shows someone examining bloody clothing. This outfit appears to be what Liz was wearing on the night of her death. Over the video, Red says, “There were loose ends, bad blood, and betrayal and we need answers.” The clip also shows a woman being smashed into a glass table. One Reddit user pointed out that this person looks like it could be Alina Park.

‘The Blacklist’ has been renewed for season 10

The Blacklist fans have more good news as the break for the Winter Olympics comes to an end. James Spader recently announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that The Blacklist has been renewed for season 10. Fallon also showed a clip from episode 10, which will air on Feb. 25.

The clip shows Spader’s character Red arguing with Harold Cooper about Red’s associate Heddie Hawkins. Aida Turturro will guest star as Heddie in episode 10.

New episodes of The Blacklist air Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
