Josh Martinez and Devin Walker previously didn’t get along

During The Challenge 36: Double Agents, Josh Martinez aligned with other former Big Brother stars, including Amber Borzotra, Fessy Shafaat, Kaycee Clark, and Lolo Jones.

The group formed to blindside four-time champ CT Tamburello into the first elimination. However, it backfired as it turned out to be a battle between the female partners.

Realizing he had a target on his back, CT aligned with Devin Walker, Kyle Christie, and Nam Vo, attempting to combat the strong group. The Dec. 23 episode highlighted a disagreement between CT and Kaycee as they argued over the use of an oven. Josh got involved in the situation and claimed the veteran made Kaycee cry.

He later attempted to backtrack on his comments, ultimately resulting in a heated exchange between the two. Devin then began making fun of Josh, chanting “Big Brother sucks,” causing the BB19 winner to get upset, and security had to intervene.

They developed a friendship when they were eliminated together during ‘The Challenge 36’

A few episodes later, CT wanted to face Josh in elimination, perceiving him as the easiest person to beat for his ticket to the final, a gold skull. However, the tight BB alliance protected him, sending in Devin instead to what turned out to be a double elimination with CT as the double agent, picking both matchups.

He gave Devin his request of three-time champ Darrell Taylor and threw Josh in anyways for himself. Darrell and CT pulled out the win, sending the rivals home together.

Following the episode, Devin appeared on The Challenge: Aftermath and admitted he thought they “oddly deserved it.” According to the veteran, the two lived in the same apartment before returning to the States and reflected on their performance during the season.

The reality stars reportedly realized others pit them against each other so their rivalry would make them targets. Believing they “got played,” Devin noted he thought they could have “flipped the game completely” if they worked together.

Josh credits Tori Deal and Devin for helping him not quit season 37

Following the season, Josh and Devin have hung out, seemingly focused on building a relationship. According to the BB19 champ’s Sept. 2021 Instagram Live, viewers will see bits of their friendship during The Challenge 37.

Josh explained that before the season began, the cast spent nearly 20 days in quarantine, resulting in him having a panic attack. He claimed he would have quit if veteran Tori Deal and Devin hadn’t “talked him off the ledge.”
