Amber Borzotra landed in two eliminations as a ‘Double Agents’ rookie

After a short-stint competing in Big Brother 16 (2014), Tennessee native Amber Borzotra debuted on The Challenge: Double Agents. Teamed up with four-time champ Darrell Taylor and integrated into the Big Brother and rookie alliance, she found herself in a good position for the first several episodes.

However, UK prospect Gabby Allen caught on to her game and felt betrayed, blindsiding her ally into elimination against Amber Martinez. The rookie dominated the Hall Brawl, sending the Are You the One? star home and earning her gold skull.

A couple of weeks later, her partner was eliminated, and she ended up teaming with Kyle Christie, who she worked against for the better part of the season.

Closer to one another, her allies protected each other, and Amber ended up in another elimination. Again, she won and chose Fessy Shafaat as a partner.

She went on to win the season with CT Tamburello

The two didn’t work well together during their first mission as teammates, as Amber struggled with the math problems, failing to advance past any checkpoints.

Annoyed and feeling that he didn’t have a chance to compete, Fessy threw himself into elimination, hoping to team up with ally Kaycee Clark. The move worked and resulted in Amber partnering up with CT, who she hadn’t worked with or spoken much to until that point.

Nonetheless, the duo dominated the finals, finishing every checkpoint first. They put on a nearly perfect showing and met T.J. Lavin at the top of a mountain before anyone else, becoming the Double Agents winners and $450,000 richer.

The 33-year-old rookie earned an extra $5,000 due to her Interrogation challenge victory.

Amber revealed her grandmother died during the finals

Following their win, the first-place finishers appeared on the official Challenge podcast alongside hosts Aneesa Ferreria and Tori Deal. When asked how she planned on spending her earnings, Amber became emotional and explained how much the win meant to her.

She explained she entered the house in a bad space because she knew her grandmother only had months to live. The rookie champ went on to reveal she found out that her grandma died the same day she ran her final after returning home.

Amber and runner-up Kam Williams believe her grandmother helped her through and is proud of her win. According to the 33-year-old, she wants to change her family’s lives with the money, namely her mother, who she credits as her motivation, by giving them “financial stability.”

The Double Agents winner will likely not return for another season as she plans on traveling and spending time with her family. The Challenge: All-Stars airs on Paramount+.
