Devin Walker and Darrell Taylor did not work together during season 36 of The Challenge as the four-time champ sided with the Big Brother alliance, a group Devin vowed to take down. During the double male elimination, double agent CT Tamburello gave the Are You the One? star his choice of any competitor, and Devin boldly selected Darrell. He clarified his decision during an episode of the aftershow.

Devin Walker and Darrell Taylor returned for ‘The Challenge 36’

Road Rules: Campus Crawl star Darrell Taylor debuted on The Challenge: The Gauntlet and won the season as a rookie.

The California native then won his next three seasons back-to-back and likely could’ve won a fifth had he not gotten involved in a physical altercation that disqualified him.

Although Darrell has returned a few times since, he has yet to make another final. Are You the One? star Devin Walker debuted on Rivals III, where he hoped to employ his “master manipulator” strategy.

The Massachusetts native placed third his rookie year but hasn’t made it to the finals since then. The veterans returned for Double Agents for another shot at the grand prize.

Devin and Darrell were on opposite sides of the house

During season 36, Darrell, partnered with Amber Borzotra, a rookie from Big Brother, teamed up with veteran Leroy Garrett and his girlfriend, Kam Williams.

They all mainly worked with the Big Brother alliance who had several strong members, including BB champs Kaycee Clark and Josh Martinez and Fessy Shafaat, and Lolo Jones.

Additionally, Cory Wharton and several of the rookies worked with the dominating alliance as they had the numbers in the house. The group blindsided CT Tamburello into the first elimination and sent Kyle Christie and Devin in, so those three formed a voting block to combat the BB numbers.

The AYTO star frequently voiced his disdain for the huge alliance and made it clear he wanted to take them out.

Devin clarifies why he chose Darrell

During the Feb. 24 episode, CT and Devin attempted to get Josh voted into elimination, but his numbers protected him and sent in the Massachusetts native instead.

However, a security breach changed everyone’s plans as it ended up being a double elimination. CT, who had the ability to choose the matchups, gave Devin his pick, and the AYTO star chose Darrell.

The decision came back to bite him as the four-time champ sent him home. Following the episode, the 31-year-old appeared on the aftershow and clarified why he picked the California native.

According to Devin, he knew Darrell played one of the “sneakiest games” in the house and worked both sides the whole season.

The AYTO star pointed out that the four-time champ was a flip vote that could have “tipped the scales” at several points in the competition but noticed Darrell “sided” with the BB alliance every time.

Additionally, Devin noted he eliminated legends Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Wes Bergmann and wanted to cross another person off of the “Mount Rushmore” of Challengers. The Challenge airs Wednesdays at 8/7 Central on MTV.
