Details are starting to emerge about the upcoming season of MTV’s long-running reality competition series The Challenge. The rumored title of season 36 is The Challenge: Double Agents, with pairs of contestants competing in Reykjavík, Iceland. A reliable insider has also revealed the cast list, which reportedly includes legends and Olympians. The source also claims that two champions paired up immediately.

‘The Challenge: Double Agents’ will feature 30 cast members

According to Monsters and Critics, Vevmo user and Challenge expert PinkRose claims that season 36 began with 38 potential cast members. They began in quarantine for two weeks back in August to make sure no one tested positive for COVID-19.

The source revealed that 30 ended up making the final cut. Just like in recent years, this season’s cast includes veterans from other reality shows like Big Brother, Survivor, Are You The One?, and Love Island. TJ Lavin will also be returning as the host.

One notable absence from this season’s cast is all-time Challenge vet and big money winner Johnny Bananas. Since winning Total Madness, he has shifted his focus to other projects. Female Total Madness winner Jenny West won’t be back for Double Agents, either.

A number of female veterans will be part of the season 36 cast

According to Heavy, the list of female contestants for The Challenge: Double Agents includes a number of veterans. PinkRose claims that the 15 female contestants are:

Aneesa Ferreira – Real World

Ashley Mitchell – Real World

Gabriella “Gabby” Allen – Love Island UK and Celebrity Big Brother UK

Kaycee Clark – Big Brother

Lolo Jones – Olympian and Celebrity Big Brother U.S.

Malkamito “Kam” Williams – Are You The One?

Natalie Anderson – The Amazing Race and Survivor

Nicole Zanatta – Real World

Nany Gonzalez – Real World

Olivia “Liv” Jawando – Shipwrecked UK

Theresa Jones – The Challenge

One male contestant is back for his 18th season of ‘The Challenge’

There are also a number of veterans among the male contestants. Most notably, Christopher “CT” Tamburello is back for his 18th season of The Challenge. Former winner Weston “Wes” Bergmann has also returned for his 14th appearance. The 15 male contestants are:

These 2 champions paired up immediately

The Challenge: Double Agents is a season of male/female pairs, with individual male and female elimination days. Elimination winners can choose a new partner, choose a “rogue agent” to be their partner, or remain with their teammate.

According to Fandom, previous winners Ashley and CT paired up immediately after the opening challenge. Both Kam and Ashley reportedly ran to CT. When he picked Ashley, he sparked a rivalry between her and Kam  The original pairs are:
