‘The Challenge: Double Agents’ spoilers: who went home on March 17?

It’s down to the wire for the current players of MTV’s The Challenge: Double Agents. Going into episode 14, Cory Wharton was teamed up with Big T Fazakerley, Amber Borzotra was paired with Darrell Taylor, Aneesa Ferreira was paired with Kyle Christie, Fessy Shafaat was paired with Nany González, Kam Williams was paired with CT Tamburello, and Leroy Garrett was paired with Kaycee Clark.

The daily challenge involved swimming, and it was Aneesa and Kyle who won despite their contentious relationship. The house vote sent in Darrell and Amber against Cory and Big T, The Ringer explains. And it was a male elimination day.

Darrell and Cory went head to head in the elimination round — and Cory smoked the competition. While Darrell is a Challenge champion, he lost to Cory in Operation Snapping Point, which involved running around poles in a competition of pure speed. The elimination could’ve involved more strength than speed, but Cory bested Darrell in the speed department immediately, thus eliminating the potential dog fight.

Darrell Taylor was disappointed in his partner, Amber Borzotra

Darrell is known for being a major force in MTV’s The Challenge, but it’s not his first time losing to Cory. And once he saw what was going down during the elimination round, he knew he was in trouble.

“I’m not going to lie, as soon as we pulled up and I saw it right away, I got into my head because I knew how fast Cory was and he’d already beat me in a foot race,” Darrell told Entertainment Weekly. He then noted he “lost focus,” giving Cory headway.

While Darrell might be upset with his performance, he knows it’s all part of the game. He also expressed some disappointment in his partner, Amber. “I was very disappointed at the time, because not only did she DQ, but [in the challenge] before that, she didn’t want to eat nothing, so I didn’t know where her head was in the game,” he added. “I felt like she just got complacent.”

Darrell’s no stranger to winning MTV’s The Challenge, though it’s been quite a few years since he’s taken home the grand prize. So, when did the champion win his seasons?

According to The Challenge Wiki, he won  The GauntletThe InfernoThe Inferno IIFresh Meat, and Champs vs. Pros. The Gauntlet ran way back in 2003 and was Darrell’s first season, but it seems he’s lost his mojo over the years. Champs vs. Pros aired back in 2017, though, so it wasn’t that long ago when Darrell pulled out a big win.

We’re hoping to see Darrell in the future, as he doesn’t have any hard feelings about how he went out in season 36. “No, I don’t have any regrets,” he told Entertainment Weekly about Double Agents. “I feel like I had a good season.”
