Eight competitors are currently running the final for The Challenge: Double Agents, with the winning team splitting $900,000 and the runners-up taking home $100,000 apiece. During an episode of the official Challenge podcast, host T.J. Lavin explained the windy conditions made it the worst weather they’ve had while filming the finals. Additionally, he revealed who he would partner with if he competed.

Because Fessy Shafaat threw himself into the last elimination before the finals to run it with ally Kaycee Clark, original cast members Nany González and Leroy Garrett became a team.

During the final, Leroy dominated the running portion while his partner had a hard time keeping up. Nonetheless, he encouraged her and remained by her side. On the other hand, Fessy took off running and expected Kaycee to keep up with him.

He continued to push her, and she ended up falling, injuring her leg. Even so, the Big Brother winner wanted to finish and began the eating portion. However, Fessy refused to eat alongside her as he didn’t think they had a chance to win.

Kam Williams and Cory Wharton performed well, keeping pace with clear forerunners, CT Tamburello and Amber Borzotra. Even though the new teammates rarely talked before running the final together, they won their respective heats in a checkpoint, with Amber finishing first, earning an advantage.

Host T.J. Lavin says he would partner with CT Tamburello

Throughout the season, the three-time champ remained on the bottom as most of the house attempted to blindside him into elimination twice. Additionally, he had a partner he felt didn’t let him compete to his highest level.

Nonetheless, the veteran won when he needed to and avoided elimination after earning his gold skull. During the Apr. 15 episode of the official Challenge podcast, hosted by Tori Deal and Aneesa Ferreira, handler T.J. Lavin talked about the current season and the finals.

While he called Leroy “one of his favorites of all time,” the host noted he would team up with CT if given the option. Lavin explained the intelligent veteran “has so much experience” and can quickly figure out the best way to complete a mission.

Additionally, he pointed out CT’s advantage when it comes to the types of puzzles in The Challenge due to him playing them with his son. The host also commended the three-time champ’s will to “go hard” without stopping and called him a “force to reckon with” in the finals.

Lavin would have had a hard time completing the eating portions

During the podcast, Lavin revealed he often runs the challenges alongside the competitors and that he completes the final before they do. Therefore, the former BMX rider would likely have no problem dominating the physical portions.

However, he admitted he does have a weakness in completing the finals as he’d have a difficult time eating the delicacies provided. The host noted he didn’t consider Fessy “soft” for not consuming the food because he would have a hard time as well as he’s a “texture” person.

Nonetheless, Lavin claimed he would train beforehand and eat disgusting stuff to prepare himself if he competed on the show. The Challenge: Double Agents airs Wednesdays at 8/7 Central on MTV.
