Josh Martinez has let his emotions get the best of him several times on ‘The Challenge’

Big Brother 19 champ Josh Martinez debuted on The Challenge: War of the Worlds, where he continued to have similar emotional outbursts he was known for during his original season.

He got into it with Paulie Calafiore in a memorable yelling match when his former BB ally betrayed him. Josh returned for Total Madness and had a verbal altercation with another ally, Chris “Swaggy C” Williams when he discovered the rookie worked with his nemesis Wes Bergmann behind his back.

After Josh confronted him about the secret alliance, he threw a drink on Swaggy C before security separated them. Additionally, Josh got into an argument with CT Tamburello during Double Agents when he jumped into a situation, attempting to protect Kaycee Clark.

Shortly later, Devin Walker taunted Josh by yelling, “Big Brother sucks,” nearly resulting in an altercation.

Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio gives his take on Josh’s emotional outbursts

The veteran has continued the pattern into season 37’s Spies, Lies, and Allies as he got into it with ally Fessy Shafaat. After coming face to face in the heated discussion, Fessy pushed Josh’s head, resulting in his immediate removal.

Additionally, he reportedly got into a verbal argument with two-time champ Ashley Mitchell. While it wasn’t aired, it also resulted in her disqualification.

Before Ashley’s deactivation, seven-time champ Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio spoke about Josh’s emotional outbursts during the Nov. 11 episode of his podcast “Death, Taxes, and Bananas,” noting it shows a more “raw version” of him.

Stating he believes Nany González is similar, the veteran called it “refreshing” because the players are being genuine instead of putting on a “persona.”

He previously gave Josh advice before ‘Total Madness’ disagreement

Before Josh got into it with Swaggy C during Total Madness, Johnny attempted to give him advice. Featured in a bonus scene, the veteran explained his growing annoyance with Swaggy C and his now-wife, Bayleigh Dayton, to the winningest player and OG Aneesa Ferreira.

The BB19 champ pointed out that the couple seems like they don’t care about numbers in the house and pledge loyalty to Josh while allegedly secretly meeting with Wes, his rival.

Josh noted their actions bothered him because he would prefer an open enemy rather than a friend who claims they have his back yet are working with the opposition. While Johnny agreed with Josh, pointing out, “one fake friend is worse than ten enemies,” he also noted the power in the house “changes like the weather.”

Therefore, he encouraged the veteran to “weather the storm” because things shift according to who gets power every week. Despite the advice, Josh still got into it with Swaggy C but apologized a couple of days later. The Challenge 37 airs Wednesdays on MTV.
