Ashley Mitchell was a fan-favorite veteran player competing once again on MTV’s The Challenge Season 37. Unfortunately for her, she “broke the rules” and was sent home without any further explanation from host T.J. Lavin or the network.
So, why did Ashley leave The Challenge? According to The Challenge Season 37 elimination spoilers, she and fellow contestant Josh Martinez got into a verbal altercation that was bad enough to get her sent home. Ashley has since spoken out about the incident.
“I pretty much flipped out and said some things I shouldn’t have,” Ashley said via live video. “Nothing derogatory, no slurs, nothing racial. I just kind of went in on him.”
She also tweeted about the experience and how she’s learning to do better next time. “I just want to thank everyone [who has] stuck with me throughout this all,” she wrote. “Everyone knows I’m only mad at myself and it has been so hard to shake off the depression and anxiety since getting home. I have been taking anger management and reflecting a lot. I love you yall so much.”

Episode 14 saw Amanda Garcia and Big T Fazakerley head into The Lair for a women’s elimination day. Amanda won, and she infiltrated the Emerald Cell to take Tori Deal’s spot. Big T lost — but she didn’t go home. Because of Ashley’s disqualification, Big T got to stay on the Ruby Cell.
According to The Challenge Season 37 elimination spoilers on Reddit, Josh Martinez and Kyle Christie head into The Lair. Josh is on the Emerald Cell, and Kyle is on the Ruby Cell. Thus far, the Emerald Cell members have managed to stick together and avoid eliminations. It seems the switch-up by Amanda didn’t go over well for the team with Josh competing in The Lair in episode 15.
Ultimately, Kyle beats Josh in The Lair, sending him home, according to spoilers.

It seems Josh has more to say about the situation regarding Ashley, though. In a now-deleted comment, he wrote, “Waiting on MTV to give me the green light to say my piece because this is bulls***. I wish they would have aired it because now all the hate I’m getting for this s*** is awful and I really [wasn’t] in the wrong.”
