MTV’s The Challenge Season 37, Spies, Lies, and Allies, brought more rookies on one season than ever before. Now, fans are eager to hear what’s coming next with The Challenge Season 38. MTV remains mum on the next season of the flagship series as spinoffs and The Challenge: All Stars Season 3 garner attention. But The Challenge Season 38 spoiler accounts gave updates on what’s going on with casting.

MTV’s The Challenge Season 38 cast is rumored to have a wealth of rookie players once again. “The Challenge 38 will have eight MTV cast members and 30 CBS/Internationals too,” Reddit notes spoiler guru GamerVev tweeted. With so many rookies, that leaves little room for returning vets. Fans of The Challenge Season 37 will enjoy seeing new faces, but longtime Challenge fans might be disappointed with this format.

Now, new The Challenge Season 38 spoilers reveal rookies are getting calls from production via Zoom as of March 4, 2022. According to PinkRose on Vevmo via Reddit, production is currently “having Zoom interviews with rookies from all over the world …. They don’t leave until May, so nothing will be concrete until late April or early May when final calls go out if departure day doesn’t change.”

Availability calls for veterans have also allegedly gone out

With the news about The Challenge Season 38 rookies, what’s going on with the vets? Rumors suggest the number of MTV cast members is limited to eight for the next season, which could leave a number of veterans out.

PinkRose’s spoilers suggest the possible veterans for the next season already received calls from production. Showrunners allegedly “gave out availability calls to the vets a few weeks ago,” per the update posted to Reddit.

Several vets went on vacation back in January 2022, prompting suspicion they hoped to get cast on the new season. Tori Deal, Nany González, Aneesa Ferreira, Kaycee Clark, Fessy Shafaat, and Devin Walker posted photos of each other to Instagram. Within the comments on Tori’s post, Aneesa claimed they didn’t discuss show politics — but many fans assumed they were solidifying a season 38 alliance.

With The Challenge Season 38 spoiler accounts reporting on casting, when does the season premiere? So far, MTV hasn’t given any indication of The Challenge Season 38 premiere date. But spoiler accounts report filming begins in May 2022, giving fans some idea of when the season may air.

“We’re not getting a main season until the fall/winter,” one Reddit user guessed. “If it films in May… probably wraps in July. A few months to edit. So … October/November.”

There’s a chance production won’t take quite that long between filming and editing, but even so, the earliest the season will likely air is early fall 2022.

In the meantime, The Challenge: All Stars Season 3 premieres on May 11, 2022, on Paramount+. And we eagerly await more information on CBS’s The Challenge spinoff.
