Why Veronica Portillo and Nia Moore returned after taking a break from ‘The Challenge’

After appearing on The Real World: Portland, Nia Moore, 33, debuted on The Challenge: Free Agents (2014). She returned for Battle of the Exes 2 (2015), where she had her best performance to date but got disqualified before the finals.

Speaking to YouTuber Mike Bloom during an April 2022 interview, Nia claimed she only returned for rival-turned-friend Jordan Wiseley as she initially rejected the offer.

Three-time champ Veronica Portillo, 44, hadn’t competed since 2018’s Final Reckoning, when she went home before the finals. Veronica admitted she didn’t have the best time when she last competed in her cast interview published by the official YouTube page.

Additionally, the reality star has pretty much left the community and lives a “simple life” with a job and girlfriend. While the former champ didn’t know if she would ever come back, Veronica claimed she “had to say yes” when invited to All Stars 3 because “it’s not an All Star season without me.” The Challenge: All Stars 3 premieres May 11 on Paramount+.
