The Dropout is based on ABC’s podcast of the same name, which is about Holmes and the collapse of her unicorn blood-testing startup company, Theranos. Hulu says the new limited series tells the tale of how the “world’s youngest self-made female billionaire loses it all in the blink of an eye.”
Meanwhile The Dropout will come out merely months after Holmes was convicted of fraud. Per The New York Times, the Theranos founder was found guilty on three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. She faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge.

The preview teases Seyfried’s Holmes as she goes through the rise and fall of Theranos after dropping out of Stanford University. The promo also highlights Holmes’ infamous voice transformation, which has many viewers excited about the series.
