Nicholas Hoult currently stars as Peter III of Russia in Hulu’s The Great. The actor has appeared in several blockbusters, including Mad Max: Fury Road and X-Men franchise, but he aspires to be more than an actor and a pretty face.

The star recently completed Ferrari’s intensive driver-training course and revealed that his “most humiliating” experience involved the Spice Girls and a car crash.

Nicholas Hoult completed Ferrari’s Corso Pilota

Conducted by the Italian automaker Ferrari, Corso Pilota runs for two days. According to Continental Autosports, the driver training program includes personal instructions on vehicle control and driving both on the race track and classroom.

The classes are divided into four categories: Sport, Advanced, Evolution, and Challenge. Every course advances the driver’s skill set on the way to the Challenge level, which is the highest level and considered professional racing.

The Sport Course is the best program for someone who wants to hone their driving skills in a controlled environment. The course is designed to offer a detailed understating of sports driving techniques. It does not exceed 21 participants and involves teaching the ideal cockpit position, acceleration technique, brake control, and more.

Once drivers grasp the basics, they move to the Advanced Course. The program only allows up to 18 participants divided into three groups. The Advanced Course emphasizes safety, and the classroom sessions are customized to the participants’ driving styles and technical aptitude.

The Evolution Course has 15 participants and is designed to help drivers develop on-road skills and improve their technique and performance. This level helps drivers understand their limits.

The last level, the Challenge Course, demands that the drivers take all their acquired skills onto the racetrack. This level helps participants perfect their driving techniques through timed sessions on the tracks.

Ferrari’s Corso Pilota features racing champions from around the world who train aspiring drivers. The instructors have experience on major tracks and have wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona 24 Hours.

Nicholas Hoult’s humiliating experience involved the Spice Girls

Hoult recently completed Ferrari’s Corso Pilota course and spoke to Vanity Fair about the achievement. He noted that he had always been interested in cars dating back to his childhood. His first experience in a vehicle on set happened when he filmed Wah-Wah at 14 years old. After shooting, his on-set tutor offered to teach the young actor how to drive and they had to reverse backing away from three rhinos.

The actor also recounted a humiliating experience when he and his friends went to a ’90s-themed birthday party. They wanted to arrive in character, so they picked the Spice Girls as their costumes. Hoult was filming Clash of the Titans at the time. His long hair extensions made him the perfect Posh Spice, the role he chose. They all dressed in “minidresses and heels.”

As the group headed to the party, his friend missed a turn and spun around, slamming into a lamp post. Since they couldn’t drive anymore, they decided to walk to the party. The actor shared that their costumes “caused a lot of joy for everyone who was witnessing.”
