Elisabeth Moss can’t choose between Team Nick and Team Luke on ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, members of the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale were asked if they are Team Luke or Team Nick. When Moss was asked which love interest she preferred for her character, she was unable to pick.

Even though Moss would not choose between Nick and Luke, she did admit that she knows who June will end up picking down the line.

“I mean, look. I do have an idea as a producer of where I think it has to go, but that is no reflection upon either of these gentlemen,” Moss said.

Because she is so involved in the production of the show, Moss felt like it was not fair for her to publicly choose between Nick and Luke.

“… as their friend, co-worker, and sometimes boss, I’m not at liberty to choose,” she told Rotten Tomatoes.

Luke and June recently reunited in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

Season 4 episode 6 of The Handmaid’s Tale premiered on Hulu on May 19. In the episode, June finally escapes Gilead. The episode ends with June and Luke in an emotional embrace.

While Luke is June’s husband from before Gilead, a majority of the seasons have been focused on building June’s connection with Nick. In an interview with Forbes, Moss hinted that Nick might have a stronger understanding of June than Luke does.

“I mean, I don’t want to spoil anything but I do think that she and Nick have a connection from what they’ve been through in Gilead that is very difficult to replicate,” she told Forbes.

Moss also seemed to tease that even though Luke and June are married, their relationship might not recover.

“She loves Luke very much but she’s not the same woman she was when she married him and it’s going to be very hard to go back to that. I think the only thing that she’s truly focusing on now is the safety of her children and getting Hannah back to her father,” Moss said.
