Now the top-rated program on NatGeo WILD, The Incredible Dr. Pol has connected with viewers in a way that no one could have imagined a reality show about a veterinarian ever could.

Gregarious and eager to teach, Dr. Pol is open to seeing any animals of every kind and has an incredible staff that has the same enthusiasm for their work and their clients as he does.

Here’s what we know about rumors that one popular member of his staff, Dr. Emily, has left the practice.

Dr. Pol’s incredible staff

The 77-year old veterinarian really is incredible. The fact that a man his age can ably handle unpredictable farm animals is more than impressive. His energy seems endless but, clearly, no one can run a practice like his on their own.

According to the animal doctor’s website, “Pol Veterinary Services is run by Dr. Jan H. Pol, Dr. Brenda Grettenberger, Dr. Emily Thomas, Dr. Nicole Arcy, Dr. Lisa Jones, and Dr. Ray Harp, who are licensed, experienced veterinarians.”

“Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year-round, with good nutrition and exercise. Pol Veterinary Services stays on top of the latest advances in veterinarian technology and above all, remembers that all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care in every check-up, procedure, or surgery.”

Dr. Pol’s incredible wife

The veterinarian met his wife, Diane, when he was a high school exchange student in Michigan. The couple married and he began working with another veterinarian in the area for ten years. They then started their own practice, Pol Veterinary Services, out of their home in 1981 and they’ve been there since then.

Diane told The Chicago-Tribune in 2018 about her husband’s growing fan base.

“We . . . have the [fans] who want to come and meet him. Some have just showed up at the clinic. And they were surprised it was a real clinic, that it’s not a set.”

“But they’ll just stop in and we have to tell them, ‘Dr. Pol’s not here, he’s out doing farm calls’ or ‘This is his day off,’ and they’ll say, ‘But we drove seven hours to see him!'”

What happened to Dr. Emily on ‘The Incredible Dr. Pol’?

Dr. Emily has been with Pol Veterinary Services since 2015. All of the vets on staff are extraordinary in their own way, but Dr. Emily is truly born for this calling.

Even late in her pregnancy, the 34-year-old continued treating grumpy goats, belligerent bulls and colicky cows. She has had maggots crawl all over her arms while treating a dog and has been kicked in the throat by a cow. The cow’s owners could not believe the fan-favorite veterinarian continued her treatment of the animal in that visit.

However, it does seem that Dr. Emily has departed from Pol Veterinary Services. The episodes for Season 15 airing now may have been taped before she left the practice. Season 16 will premiere in January and will most probably find that Dr. Emily has moved on.

She hasn’t made any public statements about leaving Dr. Pol’s practice, but according to the Warren County Veterinary Clinic’s website, Dr. Emily is now working at this Virginia-based clinic.

Still, the vet’s Twitter page, which she is active on, lists her as “Animal lover and vet on @NatGeoWild’s hit show, the Incredible #DrPol.” Dr. Pol’s website also lists her as being on his staff.

It’s anyone’s guess, then, if Dr. Emily will be back for the new season. We’ll all have to tune in then to find out!
