The Incredible Dr. Pol has gotten many, many viewers through this year that has been 2020. There’s just something about the salt-of-the-earth quality of Dr. Jan Pol and his crew that keeps fans going back for more.

And what’s even better than Dr. Pol in 2020? The answer is more of The Incredible Dr. Pol in 2021.

Here’s what we mean.

The show’s 17th season just ended

Incredibly, the popular reality show wrapped up another season, its 17th to be exact, in the fall. Its season finale was holiday season-themed. In the last episode, Dr. Pol received a call from the local reindeer farm for help with one of Santa’s helpers.

The show’s Instagram account said at the time, “It’s the final episode of the season, and we’re ringing in the Poli-days at the clinic! Maybe it’s just us, but it wouldn’t be the holiday season without  #DrBrenda and  @rooftoplandingreindeerfarm.”

As the Pols stated, “When it comes to the holidays, the clinic might as well be the North Pol!”

Dr. Pol every day in 2021

If you’ve watched the show often enough, you’ve surely heard enough of Dr. Pol’s often-uttered “isms,” such as “Holy Moses!”

The Incredible Dr. Pol‘s fans will be happy to know a Dr. Pol wall calendar has been created with a separate “Pol-ism” for each month.

As the Dr. Pol website describes the item, “Get your daily dose of Dr. Pol – America’s favorite veterinarian – in this commemorative 12-month calendar. Each page features a unique Dr. Pol phrase (or “Pol-ism” as we like to call them!) designed to delight and inspire all year long.”

It’s a great gift for the holidays, too.

The show just reached an important milestone

Recently, The Incredible Dr. Pol shared on social media about the show’s very special achievement. “#Onthisday 9 years ago, ‘The Incredible Dr. Pol’ first premiered on @natgeowild,” the show’s post read. “Happy ‘television’ birthday to us and thank you all for watching!”

As the Netherlands-born doctor told Parade in 2018, he’s aware that the show “makes people happy. My wife, Diane, and I treat others like we want to be treated: honestly and fairly. I think it comes through how we have positive attitudes. My glass is half full, never half empty.”

What makes many fans happy is the authentic love and commitment Dr. Pol has for his clients, no matter what size or species. It comes from a life immersed in the care of animals from a very young age.

He explained to AARP in 2019, “I grew up on a dairy farm in the Netherlands. My parents said that when I was less than 3 years old, I was already taking care of a chicken that was crippled. When I was 12 years old, the local veterinarian let me help deliver piglets at my brother’s place. I was lying in the straw and up to my shoulders in the sow, trying to get the pigs out.

“That’s when I knew I wanted to be a vet. . . Animals accept people for who and what they are. If you treat an animal right, it will reward you with unconditional love.”
