Dr. Emily won’t be back

One of the show’s fan-favorite staff doctors, Dr. Emily, won’t be back. She made the difficult decision to not return but her poise, calm under pressure, and great sense of humor will be missed sorely by fans.

It looks quite certain that Dr. Emily has left Pol Veterinary Services. Unless the new season features episodes with her that were taped before she left the practice, viewers will most probably find that Dr. Emily has moved on.

According to the Warren County Veterinary Clinic’s website, Dr. Emily is now working at this Virginia-based clinic.

However, her Twitter account bio still says, “Animal lover and vet on @NatGeoWild’s hit show, the Incredible #DrPol.”

The Season 16 premiere will reveal what’s going on with Dr. Emily!

NatGeo WILD loves ‘The Incredible Dr. Pol’

The popular reality show based in a predominantly large-animal veterinary practice focuses on the situations farm animals, as well as domestic pets, find themselves in: a dog who made the mistake of biting a porcupine; cows in distress during labor; bulls who must be castrated; horses with infected hooves; and on and on.

Filmed from Weidman, Michigan, where Dr. Pol and his wife serve nearly 20,000 clients and five counties, it’s dizzying how many clients Dr. Pol sees, and even more, how much stamina the 77-year-old veterinarian has to serve them all.

“Dr. Pol is the Dutch gift that keeps on giving,” said Geoff Daniels, executive vice president and general manager of Nat Geo WILD. “There really is no one quite like him on TV with the kind of straight-up honesty and humor that resonate so well with viewers of all ages all over the world. Dr. Pol is a skilled veterinarian, a great family man, a hero to his community, and a wonderful ambassador for Nat Geo WILD.”

Tune in tonight at 9:00PM EST on NatGeo WILD

From the beginning, the show’s success was a surprise to everyone, but it seems especially to Dr. Pol. He told RealityBlurred in 2018, ““Heck yes, it surprised me—it surprised everybody! How do you know when you make a hit show?” he said. “This show is watched by everybody—all kinds of life, all ages, big family show, and I think this is what is so fantastic.”

If you were wondering how the show works from a practical angle, the doctor revealed to RealityBlurred that if a client is amenable to having their office visit filmed, the office staff then tags their file so that Dr. Pol knows about it in advance.

“Then they put the extra lights on in the exam room, and we just walk in and do our work,” he said. “The camera’s always in the way because the rooms are not that big.”

Enjoy the Season 16 premiere of The Incredible Dr. Pol tonight at 9:00PM EST on NatGeo WILD!
