‘The Kissing Booth’ Star Joey King Announces Engagement to Steven Piet: ‘Let’s Do It’
Celebrations are in order for The Kissing Booth star Joey King! On Tuesday, March 1, the actor announced her engagement to producer and director Steven Piet. She and Piet have been together for two years after meeting on King’s Hulu show, The Act, per People.

King announced her engagement on Instagram, sharing a series of photos depicting her kissing Piet and showing off her gorgeous ring.
“I never knew happiness could be so powerful that it can take the air from your lungs, overwhelming every part of you that you can’t help but feel your eyes well from the undeniable joy,” she captioned the post. “I never knew that a persons presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so unquestionably beautiful. I never knew until you.”
“The date was 2/2/22 when you asked me to marry you and made me the luckiest lady alive,” she continued. “I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Hanging out with you forever sounds like a real dream, so let’s do it.”
Piet also shared photos from the proposal on Instagram. “The weather was less than perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend a lifetime together,” he wrote. “A lifetime of incredibly safe and vulnerable conversations. Holding hands on silent cab rides home, exhausted from great food and red wine. And oh, the laughter. The uncontrollable laughter. You’ve unlocked a dimension of love in me that I never knew existed.”

King’s post was met with more than a million likes and plenty of happy comments.

King did not say when she and Piet plan on getting married, but it’ll surely be a special occasion. While she can be private about their relationship, she’s always had nothing but warm words to say about him when she does speak out. She shared an especially sweet Instagram post about him in honor of his 30th birthday in May of 2021.
“I have such a huge crush on you it’s stupid,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s national you day my love, and I couldn’t be happier that you’re in my life and that I’m in yours. I love you.”
Who did Joey King date before?
Piet is King’s first known relationship since her breakup from her Kissing Booth co-star Jacob Elordi. According to Seventeen Magazine, she and Elordi were first linked in 2017, but the romance had fizzled by 2019.
Eventually, King met Piet, and the rest is history. Congratulations to those two!
